LWC if I remember correctly had one on his.. that and turbomarch are the only people that i've seen tow anything. It's not really that ridiculous to understand that they're uncommon - a stock micra that's got soft suspension and that's FWD wouldn't exactly be the best thing to tow large loads with.

I mean, you can almost fit a micra into a box trailer :p

You may have to get the towbar bit custom welded in but I really have no idea. What have towing places said?

careful there Dens. Been through this with some of the members on here. THey pretty touchy when it comes to towin ****. You will get abused if you say there no good etc. I did. Then they posted pics of a micra towing a jetski that was bigger then the car. It can be done but no idea where to get it done

lolz...

i think the question should be asked, what are you planning on towing. evey car has a tow load rating with and without brake assist.

and you can get down for pulling a load over the legal limit.

Hi Mandela,

Yes they are (or at least were...) definately available. I have one installed on my car with the following details displayed on it "The Famous Trailboss.. Precision Engineered by Queensland Towbars".

I had it fitted about seven years ago at a towbar place on the Gold Coast... I remember there wasn't any problem getting one at that time, the towbar bloke just looked up Micra in his supplier catalogue and a suitable towbar was listed.

As it's now over 10 years since the last new K11 has been sold in Australia I suspect it might be more difficult to find one now ?.... Perhaps you might want to try a few nissan wreckers to see if they might have one ?.

The micra is offically rated to tow around 600kg unbraked(including the trailer itself). I have a 6x4 box trailer and have never had any issues with towing stuff around.... The micra is eager enough when pulling the trailer, the main thing to watch out for is braking as the distance required to stop increases a fair bit.

If you don't yet have a trailer i can recommend the 6x4 folding trailer kit from the company below that i have.... it's relatively light (100kg) and easy to store.

Autobarn also sell a kit for the following lightweight trailer that also looks good; http://www.aunger.com.au/trailers/index.html

Yeah, note what I was saying there - You can see right there that LWC's was stock, and for towing light loads, a stock micra will do fine. One with uprated rear springs and a little more torque and upgraded brakes and I know it can be done a lot better.

I didn't say they were 'no good' ;) Go re-read the post.

lol, you's are a bunch of funny cunts. yeh i had one on my red car to tow my jetski which weighs in around 550kg's. i've recently changed it over to my blue car and modified it so you can unbolt the tongue and you can't see the actual towbar when its removed. dunno about a stock micra but mine tows my ski piece of piss. pulls it out of the water easily etc. tis pretty funny when you can still beat most cars of the lights with something attached to the car then is bigger then it self lol. i actually used to work for aranda towbars in brisbane.. so actually know what i'm on about when it comes to towbars... no one that i know of makes an off the shelf item for the micra. (aranda/hayman reese etc) but, the early model suzuki swifts have an almost identical rear floor pan, so you'll be able to use one of those. they bolt through the rear towhook and go up behind the rear bumper and also bolt through the floor of the wheel well. its amazing how well and how much you can pull with a micra.. i'm always getting the thumbs up from passers by lol.. i really should upload some more pics :D enjoy towing.

edit: here's a pic of my red one towing the ski http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/7384/all2007002dj9.jpg

Towbar on my green Micra is a Hayman Reese, but as others have said it was 10yrs ago. Specialist place might be able to do something.

Towing is fine, 6x4 with 2 full 44 gallon drums in it, towed a broken down Subaru up a long hill, tow my 10ft dinghy . All no probs.

bringing this thread back from the grave, I've been looking around everywhere for information regarding towing K13's

I have a jetski and I want to get a tow bar put in, I'll start making calls soon, but I was wondering if anybody has an idea how many kg's I can tow?
