smoothning of bumpers

i was wondering is it possible to smoothen the origional front and rear bumpers. What would be best to fill the the rub strip with to stop it cracking when it is sprayed. Has this even been done.

I'm using good old fashinoned fibreglass and bodyfiller for mine.

fibreglass is what im thinking of cause its a bit flexi, where as isopon (bad spelling) dos'nt

probably better to plastic weld it...

just fill the gaps with molten plastic and sand back

can plastic weld be done diy. Sounds good but i nevere
