Radio replacement - can it be done with the driver comp (total micra newbie)?

Hey guys. Recently inherited a Nissan micra 2004. Great car. Fast, reliable but the radio is limited.
Don’t want to start messing about with cd’s if I can help it.
Came into Halfords today and the engineer was baffled. Said it would be one for the forums. The radio sits underneath a driver comp which I don’t know whether can be removed or not.
Can it be removed? Or is it integral to the car?

Yes comp can be removed. Don't go near Halfords. Find a real radio place if you can't do it yourself.

If you are going for a screen, You will need to find a double din dash surround on ebay There are some from China available new but they aren't direct replacements and need some modifying.
Your head unit has a stand iso connector so it's plug and play for the most part. You are best to get an adapter through so you keep the wheel controls. Again this can be done without but its not straight forwards (and not a car on hells chance that Halfords will do it).

You could also go with a single din unit which will be a direct swap. 😉
