how do i make my pics small enough to be suitable for an avator.all i keep getting when i try to reduce it is a white page with a tiny pic in the corner

use paint, copy n paste the image..then click "image" at the top then go down to stretch/skew then resize 2 whatever size u wanna..like 50% smaller or whatever..then save file as a JPEG..then go to http://www.photobucket.com register there upload image and bobs ya uncle!!

Wow! The XP version of Paint resamples images instead of doing the rubbish way!
