Leaking water, overheating?

I have just fitted an ma12 into my micra and the car is going to the top end of the temp gauge.

also one of the pipe ends is leaking, where it connects to the metal pipes. Its the big one the comes off the radiator!

any ideas at what could be causeing this? maybe thermostat not opening or blockage, ruling out lose pipes because i have secured them with metal tie grips!

Are you sures its connected properly, if it is the maybe a gasket around the thermostat housing?

the pipes are definitely connect properly, i bought the ma12 and gearbox from buckies if all else fails!

if the gasket had gone on the thermostat, jow would that make the system burst ?

Take it somewhere to get a block test done on it.
