Front Shock Spring Fitment

Hi guys,

Had a quick poke about whilst my front wheels were off and notice my front spring can rotate freely 360deg by hand, once the weights on the strut naturally its all compressed & its sitting in the perch correctly but...

I wasn't around when the struts went on, they are still captive (just) im a little concerned as the springs not under any compression when the struts assembled which i found a bit odd, shorter dampers needed maybe?

Its a 55mm lowered tarmac spring btw

There is mate and its all sitting fine it's just I can spin the spring round and round so when the struts done up tight the springs not under any compression

So its only just captive then really
Of course under load you'll have no issues though I suspect a set of smaller shocks may help.

Thats it yeh only a few mm captive under no compression

You could do with shorter shocks then

i have the same issue, what shocks can people suggest to corret this?? also when my rear is jacked up i can freely take out the rear spring. again what can people suggest??
