Hi

I've had this problem with my ECU for ages and the mechanic says it can't be fixed but the car is fine to drive. The only thing is that the Engine warning light continuously flashes.

So, I ripped out an ECU from an old micra down the local scrappy.

Can I plug it into my car without blowing it up?

ps. my car has a NATS immboliser.

Any help would be much appreciated

Cheers

If you changed the ECU you would need to get the key re-programmed to match the new ECU.

Basically your car would just turn over but wouldn't start as the immobiliser wouldn't be de-activated!

When my immobiliser went wrong I had my friend fit an older ECU from a non-nats K11, so now my car is a non-nats one :)

I think the non-nats ECUs were from the early K11 Pre 94 I think. Sadly the NATS to Non-NATS is not a straight swap, I had to get the wires moved all around for it to work.

To get an ECU re-programmed I would probably say that would have to be a Nissan jobby.
