any ideas on A2A exhaust silencer folks?

Hi guys n girls,
Just failed the micra MOT on a slightly windy backbox/silencer..oww err misses..;p
I just priced up a replacement backbox for £48 fitted in one of those tyre/exhausts places and they use A2A exhausts.
I was just wondering if anyone had had any experience or even heard of these exhausts?

Any replies would be gratefully appreciated..

Quote; “those tyre/exhausts places and they use A2A exhausts”. These places would naturally use the cheapest parts available to them in order to maximise their own profits.

With a long term keeper perhaps it’s cheaper in the long run to fit a known more durable back box that’s designed to cope with the exhaust condensate problem associated with daily runabout short journeys?

Every second facelift that comes into my local scrapyard seems to have completely rust free back boxes that look like they have some sort of coating on them. That's where I got my spare one

Thanks for reply and thats a good info on the bostal. you are correct, these days I just use the micra for small journeys or in my case micro journeys ;p slight hitch with the bostal is that to get one sent out through mr auto, by the time I get one sent out and find another to fit and taken back to mot station I think my 10 days back to the mot for retest will be up. the bostal looks good though.
The only saving grace on the a2a is that it has a 3 year guarantee. Found another cheap and cheerful garage doing a walker brand for £72 which hopefully isn't chiness,
You are correct though, when i asked the cheepo tyre/exhaust place about the a2a brand, they were evasive and soon got off the phone..lol

Thanks for that, i am not surprised at your spare exhaust from the scrappies being in such good condition as my micra is on the original exhaust, it has only rusted because as pmlval says , it has been used for short journeys.

Might try and get a cheep clarus on offer from europarts witha third off at the moment at £24. Least its made in the uk and one of the other chaps on here got one and he said it fitted fine. I've no idea on the lifespan of it tho.;p

A2A are not a cheap inferior brand, they're actually a UK manufactured company and come with a three-year warranty on all of their hearts as standard, there exhausts are fitted a standard to Volvo land rover jaguar etc so they are original manufactured parts, and will outlive cheaper inferior exhaust systems they are also made to the exact original manufactures specifications shows not alter an effect back pressure on the car. So we rest assured if you are offered an A2A exhaust system it is actually a very high end exhaust all be it standard.
