advancing timing

i have the nissan data scan cable just wondering if i can advance the timing instead of using the timing strobe light? i did use it in adjusting the idle mixture....

No you'll have physically adjust the distributor by hand and ofcause use a timing light.

yes i know that i have to physically move the distributor, but my question is can i use th nds because it displays the timing as well....

i doubt if it displays the true figure unless the timing is physically set with a strobe first, and will only be relative
