The lower hole existed in the old cat; but not the new. It is a 2 cat system . It isn t drilled through.

The lambda has 3 wires going to it. the smaller thing has 2. The Temperature probe .. is it needed? can I install it further down? The small hole does not go into the unit almost as if it is for mounting something to the exterior. Thanks for the info

Yes . There is a thread of some sort in it but t is shallow only; about half an inch or so deep. I got it with manifold from japan (crazy postage).I m trying not to get another.

I ended up filing down the one difficult bolt. Yes it has air con. Now that it is out Isee that I have the wrong converter;mine is a 93 but I got one for a 2000. The second sensor doesn t fit. There is a threaded hole but it does not go into the units body.

I am trying to change my cat too but the manifold will not come out because of the alternator.Do I have to remove it too? Everything is loose (off) but another 1/4 or1/8 inch is needed to clear the studs.
