Wipers playing up on two micras, I changed the motor coz I had a spare. It never seems to be the relay. No change. Swapped relays with a good micra - all works! Definitely the relay. Anyone have two lying around and save me from lining Nissan's pockets!

Thanks for the idea - I have been checking http://nissan4u.com/parts/micra/ for the part - it seems some have filter - some don't. Where there is one is just goes in the top to filter fluid as you top up ? What was the logic the mechanic gave for this - does it get clogged and make pump work...

Fluid is fine and power steering is working fine. Using a hosepipe as a stethescope the sounds coming from it sound like marbles in a can. At revs it whines and is louder than the engin. It needs replacing before it goes I reckon. Anyone got a spare ?

Sounds like the bearing is on the way out - Is the bearing easily replaced or has someone got a whole second hand pump (plus hose) lying around ? any advice appreciated. Luckyphil1957.
