    Oops.

Got a 3 door replacement on the insurance payout, that was significantly newer than the original. Would have preferred 5 door, but this one was especially tidy.

    Oops.

Indeed - I could repair pretty much all of the damage - apart from the door pillar - which I'm not real confident of doing. Well - to the extent that it's back in the original shape enough to not stress a replaced windscreen. Anyone happen to have done this? Got a cheap Renault Laguna (tank of...

    Oops.

Slight misreading of roadsign. Over kerb at 30MPH (down from 50 due to braking) taking out front tyres, and bending the alloys a little. 13m down 30% slope (decellerating all the way at 0.7G according to the GPS), and hitting the barrier at around 15MPH. Buggered right-hand pillar, front...

    1998 K11 ECU swap between 1.0 and 1.3?

Unfortunately not. I tried this - and it seemed to behave no differently from turning it off and back on. It still takes (when it's doing it) several dozen attempts to get it to work. Also - the price on ebay for ECUs seems to be similar to the price that nissan'd want to register the key, and...

    1998 K11 ECU swap between 1.0 and 1.3?

ECU light flashing when key is inserted, and not starting. Exactly the same symptoms in fact as if a key with no transponder is used. When it does this, turning off and on several dozen times (without trying to start) eventually clears it, and it stops flashing, and works again. It does this...

    1998 K11 ECU swap between 1.0 and 1.3?

I'm having odd, possibly ECU related problems with my 98 K11. (NATS). Can I swap the ECU between a 1.0 and 1.3?

    New "ram air" for k11

Being a bit optimistic, It might get 1PSI at 60MPH. Not utterly worthless, but no earth-shattering-kaboom.

Flow rate curves vs pulse width for stock CG10DE injectors.

I've got a log of several journeys, with GPS, and flow rates (well, injector frequency and periods) Problem is, the GPS has a lag of several seconds, and I don't have gear, or throttle position info, so the data is moderately hard to reduce, I could write something to guess the gear based on...

Flow rate curves vs pulse width for stock CG10DE injectors.

I know - I've hooked an injector up to the mic input of a laptop, so I have a decent measurement of pulse width. The problem arises in converting it to a fuel flow. The injector initially is closed, for the first 1-2ms or so. Then it gradually opens to full, over the next millisecond or two, and...

Flow rate curves vs pulse width for stock CG10DE injectors.

I'm trying to compute, from injector pulse widths, the exact amount of fuel used moment by moment. To compare (for example) fuel economy at slightly different tyre pressures, make nice graphs of fuel consumption per gear at various engine load conditions, road conditions, ... Anyway - the base...

Flow rate curves vs pulse width for stock CG10DE injectors.

Thanks! I don't suppose you know the dead time before they start to produce any fuel. I assume it's a bit more than 1.5ms?

Flow rate curves vs pulse width for stock CG10DE injectors.

Does anyone happen to have these, before I start pulling them off and measuring?

Stupidist things you've done on your micra..??

Detaching the heater control panel, to replace a knob, and believing the haynes manual. The whole fascia had to come off. http://www.mauve.plus.com/fascia.jpg On the flipside - this can be done without removing the wheel.

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

Back on now, just finishing painting under the various trim round that wheel, after removing rust. Looks to be not too bad. Caliper opens and closes well, and wheel moves easily after hard braking. All I need to do now is to fix the damage the tyre monkey did to the jacking point next to it :(...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

Rust is NOT FUN. I've gotten into the habit of not using spanners on stuff I need to remove without burring, but using an adjustable wrench. put on nut, close as far as it'll go, wiggle a little, repeat, remove from nut, adjust a hair tighter, push onto nut with a slight wiggling motion to take...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

I did the bolt thing - till I ran out of bolt. Then I did the drift thing with 2lb hammer. It's all in bits at the moment. Tomorrow, I remove some rust on the outer face, so the seal can seat properly, put it back together, and go and get a new set of seals, and some fresh brake fluid. I wonder...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

There is a horrendus buildup of crap between the spring clips, and the brake disks, which has stopped them moving easily - it was a struggle to remove them. The guide pins seem in good condition. The piston seems completely siezed - it's currently in the oven at 100C, and I'm going to fill the...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

Ok. After removing the back caliper mounting bolts, and hammering on the caliper with a big hammer (though swung gently) to persuade it to release its death grip, I now have it in my hands. (well, propped on the disk). Sigh. Have no brake fluid to clean it - so will drain 10ml from the resovoir...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

Whee - thanks to the helpful suggestions, the problem is now 'just' a sticking caliper, without any suggestion of permenantly bent stuff. Putting the nuts back on the disk, without the wheel did indeed give ~1.5mm of clearance on the front of the disks. Now, to dissasemble the caliper. I'll be...

What have I bent? (front offside wheel hot)

I tried removing both obvious bolts, then removing the caliper - it diddn't want to know. I'll have another look today.
