Will 1.3 Cams make any difference with low octane fuel?

Ah good, any change in fuel economy (important for us)? I think we've decided against it, just so nothing can go wrong. Thanks for everyones help though.

Will 1.3 Cams make any difference with low octane fuel?

The original idea was to get a bit more power With a heavly loaded car we'll be wanting to get good power lower down, not just at high revs, maybe this isn't the best idea??? We may retard the ignition a bit if we hit bad fuel along the way.

Will 1.3 Cams make any difference with low octane fuel?

Will do. I suppose that answers the question really! How about the mpg, what sort of losses can we expect with these cams? Is it just a straight swop, we made sure they were both dizzy models.

Will 1.3 Cams make any difference with low octane fuel?

Sorry, what I mean is when I'm in Kasakhstan and the fuel has very low octane will the car be more likely to stop running if I have the 1.3L cams in?

Will 1.3 Cams make any difference with low octane fuel?

Hi, I'm doing the Mongol rally in a K11 and Bridges Breakers (near the M23) have kindley given us some 1.3 cams and some spare wheels. Before fitting them I just wondered if this is going to affect our ability to run on the low octane fuel we are likely to encounter, I can't think why it...

    Rust- solutions?

Thanks, that looks promissing. If replace all of what is shown in the picture I still have to do some tack welds do I? I would have a look at the car to see but its 160 miles away!

    Rust- solutions?

yep the front cross member. Is bolting allowed? If not I suppose, if I do all the preparation, welding will be quite cheap. I phoned the MOT station and they want it to be welded so I'll have to do that.

    Rust- solutions?

Yestoday my micra failed its MOT on excessive corrosion on the bit of the chassis behind the front bumper. Rather than welding patches on to strengthen it I was considering chopping the whole section that goes across the front out and putting one in from another micra. Then I wondered if when...

    Starting Problems

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes it seems the pump's definately the problem. Took it out today and couldn't get any sensible impedance readings. I then dropped the pump on to the concreate floor and now can get a reading and it runs off a 12V supply! Seems that there must be something faulty...

We bought the car of thursday, knowing that it had problems, and managed to start it but hitting near the fuel pump with a rubber mallet. It drove well for 5 miles or so...
