From the number of replies I've had, it looks like a unique problem. Could I then ask, does the ECU control gear selection functions ? Ever since we've had the car, it has been difficult to get into gear. Pretty much like trying to put a manual into gear without engaging the clutch !

W Reg 1.3 K11 Auto. Every now and then, when selecting drive, reverse or neutral, NCVT light comes on and there is no drive. I turn off ignition, wait a few seconds and restart. Light goes off and I have drive. Niggly !

Thanks Solarice. It's intermittent in that one day everything is ok, and next - nothing. Only clue when she won't drive is that the Ncvt light stays on. Changing the brush assembly back to the original from the old gearbox brought a fresh part to the puzzle - instead of the light coming on...

Hi again Frank. Tried that all - new brushes etc. Thing is there is no difference in performance at all. The car drives perfectly and the light comes on only after about 2 minutes. Thinking of memory back up fault. How do I get this checked ?
