    E85, anyone else running it?

Typical improvements for turbo setups (dyno) have been up to 30% increase. @ Daniel: Now I am having a NA setup, but I have been testing electric turbo, but it saturates the cg13 maf. Now I have to find a bigger maf. That is a positive problem though. :-)

    E85, anyone else running it?

...and shortly after posting the previous message, I remembered that I removed the rev limiter, which means that the injector time is halved due to being twice per cycle. So this means max 84% duty cycle, which is about 100hp. Anyway comparison to some other setup would be nice.

    E85, anyone else running it?

Another Finn here having 100% E85 in K11 1.3. My setup is now having GA16 injectors and 3.5bar fuel pressure, better flowing headers and intake with cone filter and no airbox. Just tried to log some injector time and duty cycle figures to be able to find out the output power. For some reason...

    injector capacity

In case of someone using a stock ECU like me... Before putting in the Bosch MAF, I fooled the stock MAF just for testing purposes. Using changeable voltage divider in the MAF signal and lowering the signal by roughly 5%, it was having close to 13:1 AFR throughout the second gear (WOT). This...

    lowering 2000 k11

It is ALWAYS a good idea to soak the to-be-opened joints with WD40 or similar at least one day in advance. It never hurts, but it will save time and your knuckles and you're able to use a spanner and hex sockets instead of angle grinder..

    Air Pipe from Air Box

Yes it's true that 15hp will not be the number for Micra. The 15hp could be achieved with highly restrictive intake system if the engine has originally 300 hp. I was just trying to show the type of the filter I have. Nothing more. Anyway, if you are going to make exhaust mods, you...

    Air Pipe from Air Box

Someone has made a testing to find out biggest pressure for intake air and it was close to point where lee k0011 has it. I cannot find a link to it, but I will post it if I find it. I am having a Apexi dry cone filter (like this http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/) just behind the...

    injector capacity

Ok. How I am trying to get it working is by changing MAF at the same time with injectors so that the signal will be having the same proportions as with stock injectors and MAF. As an example: Stock MAF signal 20% air going in, and injector duty cycle 20%. If have changed the injectors to...

    injector capacity

I have heard that the bigger injectors (in general) might need more fuel pressure to get proper/smaller droplet size on lower rpms. Have you had such experiences? I have a GA16 injectors (with stock ECU) in my CG13DE and it seems that the air fuel mixture is not igniting properly on low rpms...

    Intake Manifold Isulator

Thanks, that was interesting! Anyone in the forum with similar results? And of course the question after reading the article is that does anyone have a CAD-file from CG13DE intake ports? ;-)

    Intake Manifold Isulator

The link was only showing decrease in the intake runner temp, not the air. I think the air inside the intake travelling at a speed of 50 meters per second is not getting much energy from the intake, so I am a little sceptic on this. But I would make an insulator, If someone could show some proof...

    Intake Manifold Isulator

Ok. Nice to see that someone is documenting their work. Yes, I know that the intake runners will be cooler using spacers, but how about the air inside. Has anyone made an intake air temperature measurement close to the injector to see that there is really a difference? Here is one commercial...

    Intake Manifold Isulator

I know this is an old thread, but just being curious... does anyone have any measured data to see how much these mods lower the intake air temperature? As I am living in Finland I wouldn't take out the TB heating due to low temperature (down to -30'C) engine starts here during winter. But for...

    Accelerating using torque or hp?

On the other part of forum there was an out of topic discussion about what is needed to accelerate. This was just too tempting to leave this out. And yes I know that I am throwing some 98E5 to flames. ;-) I was trying to correct a common misunderstanding by saying that it is torque what you...

    Removing Rev Limiter

Sorry. No I haven't tried that. First I was thinking that I would need a spare disc to do that, but on the other hand, I could restore the disc to original using aluminum tape. (In case the mod is not working as planned.) I will try that next weekend.

    Removing Rev Limiter

Please, can we really stay in the topic of ways to get rid of the limiter. Why should I need to explain to anyone if this modification is beneficial for my application or not! Is there a moderator in this forum to keep this discussion in the topic?

    Removing Rev Limiter

Sorry, forgot to explain that sentence: It means that you should select the lower gear with high rpm instead of next gear with max torque, because with the lower gear you get more torque to wheels, due to lower gear multiplying the engine torque more than higher gear.

    Removing Rev Limiter

Did you read the whole article? Couple of quotes from the same article to consider. 1. Unfortunately, *engine* torque does not tell you the full story. What matters is the torque *delivered to the tires*, including the effects of the transmission. We all know a car does not accelerate as...
