I know a garage looked at them but my money's on the front calipers, you've described classic symptoms. You can also check if the discs are hot after a run, and try freewheeling down a steepish hill, if it slows, that's the brakes. Good luck my man.

Hi Paul, Looking from the front of the car, I have red/black to the left terminal, red/yellow to the centre/top terminal and black/white stripe to the right terminal. Highly recommend you go for the ceramic connectors on Ebay to prevent any future melting problems. Regards Mike

Agree with Guy about the accelerator cable. The 65mph and shaking sounds like the front calipers binding. Check if they are getting hot. Service or replace.

I'm confused! Were they still making non coilpack 1.0l in 2001?

That reminds me, I was looking at a 1.0l K11 at a dealers last year. The guy came out and told me it had new cv joints and this and that, oh and a new EGR valve. I knew what I was dealing with then! No deal ha ha!

Hi Jim, I had this same issue replacing a 2000 1.0l with a 2002. It's not a problem in my experience, the single output from the thermostat goes to the heater matrix. I overcame the smaller fitting by putting a piece of 14mm hose over the outlet then a 16/18mm hose over that and jubilee clip...

Kev, I would get to the bottom of the engine light first, just to establish that it is just the O2 sensor and not something worse.( Lots of previous postings about where to get those - not from Nissan!) There's no point doing all the other stuff only to find the engine is dying.

Drop the whole lot will be easier imo. Also the inlet manifold will be easier to swap if that comes out too, the four lower bolts are tricky to get to, much easier out of the car. To lift the engine out you would need to take the bonnet off I think. Change the gearbox oil anyway.

Have a look at your front brakes TT. Calipers tend to bind which would cause poor mpg and acceleration.

Hi Siraz, Might be worth looking at the handbrake cables also. Mine always seem to split about 8-10 inches forward of the brake backing plate. Once split, the handbrake becomes less effective. Oldspike

Hi Folks, So pretty much as the title says I'm gonna do a straight cg10de coilpack engine swap (bust piston ring in cylinder 3 forces this) and invite any tips or shortcuts or things to avoid. Have searched for similar threads but apologies if this has been covered before, any suggestions...
