How is the bonnet adjusted on a prefacelift micra? it overlaps the grill about half an inch on one side. i tried slackening the bolts under the bonnet and pushing it back but it didnt make any difference. do i need to take off the hinges altogether or something?

I had mine in to weld up about 6 inch on one sill near rear arch, garage charged just short of £60.
