cheers lads appreciate it, its a shame they dont have 6 gears, if thats the case will a re map help in n e way? i do a lot of motorway driving and i tend to stay at 65 70 to get reasonable mpg.

yeah definately give wr davies a ring they will sort you out and if ur older that 21 they provide a courtesy car, i had a nissan note that had some problems and they were so helpful with that. i agree the micra engine is very quiet when i first bought it i had to constantly watch the rev counter...

show seasons coming and im tidying up the micra, im after front headlight clusters as mine are coated in some sort of glue substance that i cant shift, tried industrial solvent, t cut the lot. and the boot unlocking unit for keyless entry, its inside the unit with the boot opening switch.

you could try getting holdof a new switch from a scrap yard or use a multi meter to see if there is voltage coming to the switch, in which case u wud know its a faulty switch if not could be the wiring or the motor.

you could do with an obd 11 reader they are on ebay for £20 which will tell u whats wrong, or go to the service desk at a nissan dealership and ask for advise they r very helpful

problem solved :) popped into nissan dealership on way home from work and toldem the problem, diagnosed as a loose or worn alternator belt. thanks everyone for the help.

ta for that mate to be honest iv noticed a sort of scratching noise coming from around the alternator belt area n when i first start the car from cold i get a squeak that lasts for maybe a second

if you can get up towards the midlands i know of 2 places, "xtreme stainless" and a guy in stafford. xtreme stainless is fitting me a middle back stainless pipe and 3" custom back box for 80 quid, he has his own unit and all he does it custom exhausts

cheers for that got the multi meter on the battery, idling voltage is 14.17, 12.9 without the engine running. im tempted to say it may be a belt only because the light only comes on when i accelerate. n e ideas?

sounds daft but what does it actually do? does it give a fault code that u have to look up on internet?

whats the fault with the lcd mate?
