    Hello, from new forum member.

Dont get much chance to get on here recently. Progess has been made though (just a little slow due to poor weather and working outside) The GA16 is bolted in the engine bay and sitting nicely. I'm fitting it in a way so i don't need to use custom shafts or ccut the chassis to clear water pump...

    Changing Timing Chain Guide?

Have you pushed the gearbox back?? It will not fully clear if the gearbox is bolted to the engine, even if it feels loose. Also sometimes they get stuck on the dipstick tube (the rubber seal goes dry and seizes in the sump.) The manifold bracket is also bolted to sump iirc so that will also need...

    Changing Timing Chain Guide?

I have done this job on several occasions and what Frank is telling you is correct. The upper aluminium sump has to come off to releases the timing cover. Even if you did manage to get the cover off with sump on, you would damage the front of the Head Gasket and you would never get the cover...

MICRA K11 E IMMOBILISOR BYPASSS Pre Nats 1 Version

The easiest way to by-pass ANY accessory immobilisor is to follow all wiring on it and remove it from the car one bit at a time. So start at your reciever in your centre consul and follow the wires that come out of it. You need to follow ALL wires and remove one at a time. They normally cut the...

The main battery earth lead goes from the battery, clips under the battery tray, then is bolted to the gearbox via the startermotor fixing bolt.:)

Nice one Andy, its Colin who you used to work with. You always said youd do an SR Micra! Im currently stripping a 3 door K11C for a GA16de conversion then once its up and running, i'll be fitting a low pressure turbo. Let me know if you ever need wiring diagrams or anything like that.

    help needed

What year is the Micra? As the engine management systems changed in late 2000 so depends on age of car as to what the fault could be.

    Newbie.. Fuel Gauge

You have to remember with Micra that it has a very small fuel tank, so even if you don't get that many miles to a tank it has not really used that much fuel. So when you work it out it might still be doing good MPG

    Poor MPG

The 55reg K12 is the facelifted one and these have quite a common fault of corrosion getting into the downstream (After Cat) Lambda Sensor Connector (but often cant be seen even when plug disconnected) This causes over fueling and poor MPG. An easy way to test for this is to probe the Upstream...

    Timing Chain Stretch

The timing chain stretch is normally due to the oil de-grading over time, and regular oil changes is all that is recomended to help prolong life. The weight of the gear doesn't realy afffect the chain as the weight is taken by the camshaft. A fixed pulley on this engine would cause engine...

    COLD START PROBLEMS

This could be a problem with the engine temp sensor. It could also need a modified harness for the temp sensor if you car is before the VIN range jacob_ts has listed above but most cars had this fix years ago, but some have slipped through the net. If your car is the distributor model it is...

    Washer Bottle - 2010 K12

Hello, the washe bottle is situated under the o/s/f headlamp. Access is gained to the bottle through the o/s/f wheel arch lining. Once you remove the screws and clips the lining can be pulled out then you can get to the bottle. It is most likely the motor seal or a pipe come off.
