xero, Thanks, sounds to simple battery removed and jumped to terminals from another hey presto cranked away. One new battery later and all is well includng no more missfire.

The old CVT was a normal diff, I've never really pushed this car as I do not trust the strength of the transmission. The suppliers are happy to take the box back and refund however do not see driveshafts as their problem and if I take it back this means still no car. Will try local cv guys...
