Does the shudder appear to be coming from one of the front wheels? It could be a drive shaft (CV) issue. If so, don't leave it too long, or you'll need a tow. Get to a mechanic soon.
cheers,
Greg
Hi folks!
I recently fitted some new parts, and wanted to share my experiences. I swapped the headlights as the original units with plastic lenses were casting little, if any, light at night. The plastic lens had become too milky. I also replaced the distributor, as the original had a coil pack...
All sorted!
I got the complete set from Poland, including the 'D'-bush for the sway bars. 20mm. They bore out to the size you want. Anyway, I found out the hard way I need 22mm - the extra heavy duty sway bar that is fitted to my car.
I've ordered additional 22mm 'D'-bushes, and will sell the...
Hi team Micra.
I'm ordering the complete polyurethane (red) front end bushing kit from the Polish Ebay guys. They can do the front sway bar bushes in 20mm, however, can only go as far as 16mm for the rear.
Does anybody know of a supplier for 20mm rear? It appears Whiteline no longer manufacture...
Thanks guys.
Will follow up with mechanic this week. It's annual rego time. According to Nissan's original Micra sales blurb the engine and crankcase seals were "sealed for life" with a special epoxy liquid seal. I guess back at the time 100,000 would easily have been considered life time. My...
G'day folks.
I've sprung a slow leak between the engine and automatic gearbox. Looks like the seal needs replacing. Car runs very well otherwise. I suppose the next step would be to try and get a new seal from Nissan Australia and get my mechanic to swap. Has anybody else experienced this...
My CVT auto SLX (yes, still working fine!) is at the mechanics's at the moment. He's found the right rear drum brake out of action - zero hydraulic fluid being forced through the proportioning valve. Probably a blockage? My hope is, being an ex-Soviet engineer, he should be able to recondition...
Over the weekend I thoroughly cleaned out the throttle body and MAF sensor with carbie cleaner. The car starts a little easier in the morning. I have a Tridon Coolant Temperature Sensor on order with SuperCheap - $28. Nissan quoted $122 - on order from Japan. According to Nissan, there are zero...
Thanks folks for the quick responses! The car always fires up without issue, then runs at high idle (as intended). After about 2 minutes or so the idle drops dangerously low until the engine warms up . . . then it's fine again. I'll be changing the fuel filter tonight. I have found some...
G'day team.
I have an SLX auto CVT. Full Whiteline performance handling kit, Hurricane 4-2-1 and 2" mandrel bent exhaust. Also British PiperCross foam panel air filter. Otherwise, all stock. The car has about 126,000km on the clock and has been running fine for the 6 months I have owned it . . ...
Will post pics when I've had a window to wash and detail it. I've been too busy with work and mods ;-)
On Saturday 'MB' - Mini Beast went in to Liverpool Exhaust. We only had enough time for the 4-2-1 extractors (the aircon workaround was a hassle, but they kinked pipe No. 1 exhaust!), 200...
