The 1.6 in the SR is not from the CR family of engines.... you'd be lucky if some of the accessories ( starter alternator etc. ) bolted up but the the ECU and wiring thats a whole different casino... i wouldn't gamble there but that's just my $0.02

I took out the headlamps that metal bit that covers the radiator and condenser and removed the front bumper as a safety precaution moved the A/C lines and the compressor over to the drivers side wing to get it out the way without disconnecting the lines.... was all down hill from there hoisted...

Hey I was just wondering if anyone else on here with a 1.4 desires more power. I for one would love to have a few more ponies beneath my right foot.... has anyone here made any significant performance modifications... Im running a CR14 btw would love some specs to put me closer to this...

Hate to revive an old thread but i think its worth noting that we use the same tie rods (both inner and outer) as the tiida and the note where i am those are easily accessible parts as we have poor road conditions. The brand i got is 555 out of Japan

Correction Frank I have changed an engine in my car... used the opportunity to upgrade to a 1.4 swapped over the long block with no issues at all . I should say though that mines a 04 pre-facelift model and does not have a smart key system

my locks began siezing again considering using aftermarket ones.... much cheaper just a little bit more techical to install. P.S challenge accepted... will post pics of the build once I get started
