I've had a petrol k12 for 10 years, it's been 100% reliable apart from the boot lid switch playing up...renault switchgear of course.<sigh> Problem is the internet does highlight potential problems which may not be a problem for many owners.

it's an inverted tooth design, supposed to be quieter running. The problems occur with models up to 2006, faulty batch usually fails with poor oil....so regular changes may help. Later models should be OK, but who knows...
