Clutch replacement

New Micra K11 owner here.

The clutch pedal is high and is noisy (squeaking). Tried WD40 but no joy. Two garages have told me I need a new clutch, so...

A couple of questions:

1. Does £300-350 sound a lot for the work?
2. Will the car fail its MOT if I ignore it?

A couple of questions:

1. Does £300-350 sound a lot for the work?
2. Will the car fail its MOT if I ignore it?

No way would you pay that for a new clutch (!)
I would expect to pay around £140 at the most.
Have look at the adjuster on the end of the cable first buddy, try to do that first to see if it makes a difference.
If you have no movement left then it is a new clutch.
