Clutch replacement

New Micra K11 owner here.

The clutch pedal is high and is noisy (squeaking). Tried WD40 but no joy. Two garages have told me I need a new clutch, so...

A couple of questions:

1. Does £300-350 sound a lot for the work?
2. Will the car fail its MOT if I ignore it?

I got a LUK clutch off Ebay for £60...... and the garage charged me £60 to fit it a year ago.

I got a LUK clutch kit ( with release bearing ) from a local motor factors for $100 ( so about £60 ) and fitted it myself. Didn't rush, cleaned everything as I went along, so just a few hours of my time rather than lining the pockets of a "mechanic", over a year later jobs still a guddun

Oddly, it's been as smooth as butter for the past couple of days since the last garage I took it to gave everything a good squirt.
