barrel prices doesn't matter, as the UK will still be more than the USA, by a long way! Even here in Belgium, it's still considerably cheaper than the UK despite the oil price

Very envious, James, I'm sure you'll have a great time. Most Yanks are friendly, hospitable people (We're not all war mongers and gun nuts). Fair share of nutters to be sure but that's to be expected with over 250M population.

Bring your woolies as I expect it'll be quite cool around the Great Lakes in December.

Yeah I've been there quite a few times now, I think i've been to New York 4 times now, never been able to drive over there before though!

I do know how cold it gets over there though, in 06 I went to Montreal in December and it was about -40C!
