Hey guys,
I imported a used Japanese exhaust system for my k11.
It consists of the downpipe, mid section and back box.
For a bit of back ground I have a 1.0 Coilpack engine.
When I went to fit the exhaust, the downpipe hits the floorpan, I bolted the mid section onto it, but the mid section slants downwards and hangs low where the right angle bend is, just before it bolts to the back box. If i try to lift the mid section to sit parallel to the floor pan, as it should, I cant as the downpipe hitting the floor pan prevents me from doing so.
I have looked at many japanese manufactured aftermarket downpipes and they all have the same shape as mine.
Any ideas as to why this may be?
I have heard that coilpack model k11s like mine, have a longer cat and exhaust manifold, so could it be the downpipe i got with my exhaust is from a dizzy model which has a shorter manifold and cat?
I find it hard to believe it would cause such a clearance issue.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
