Instrument Pod

Got to thinking about ways to mount gauges on the dash. I wanted a, sort of, factory look and after looking at the dash panels, thought I might work something out by doing a little surgery to them. Trip to the scrapyard for spares and after some careful measuring, cutting (razor saw), and epoxying, this is the result. All I need now are the gauges.

Good Job, I'm doing my console as well. well just a little. How about putting some tweeters in, lol. seriously where there any gauges in there anyway?

Looks horrible - you need to make the cigarette lighter straight (argh OCD!)
Are you going to fill in the gaps surrounding the new panel - you will also have to faff about a bit as gauges don't *quite* sit nicely in the heater control holes.

Spot on sonic. Started with minimum curvature and as the plastic heated screwed the end caps down a little. No gaps, really, took my time fitting the gauge piece. Just overlaps on the sides and is pretty snug along the bottom join. The openings are countersunk slightly, just a bit over 53mm at the back and slightly larger in front, and most gauges seem to be 52mm. With the bezel should be a snug fit. Of course will have to brace the the back ends of the gauges and allow for some sort of mounting method.

An even better location would be in place of the heater controls but I haven't looked into the possibility of swopping them out. No problem, however, with seeing them down there.
