the price is correct. i guarentee that as thats what they are on the computer. on the advert we have in store, and on the till.... and we can fit them too for £39.99.....

£200 fully fitted hid set...

(but vehicle must have a self leveling system and a self cleaning system to be fitted to uk vehicles and pass an mot) nothing stopping you from putting them in for shows and stuff..... especialy night cruises...

Yeah i dont think you can tar all halfrauds staff with one brush! Bound to be a few bad grapes in the bunch but u get that everywhere.

only if its on the right peg.....if you buy a spanner off a peg for an air freshner, we dont have to do squat appart from saying.... sorry someone must have put it on the wrong peg..

however, if its on the correct peg and its the wrong price, we have to obide by that price........

just spent £150 on fogs!! Should have gone for these instead.

best place to fit transformer unit?? Ah well guess I will leave it to Hellfrauds though out of interest...

You also have the right to refuse the sale. What you cant do is refuse to sell it at that price but you will sell it for more.

Whats a self leveling / self cleaning system??

and my car does have MOT - thanks

do we have to book in? im calling them now i hope their in stock

ta

my local store... could probably fit them but I dont go there... because they dont know what their doing long story... so I phoned another store and they said: they dont fit them... damn... have to order them in...

yeah. theyre special order, but they only take two days........short enough time.

and fittng is a piece of......

pull out your old bulbs, plug the balast into the existing wiring loom, plumb the bulbs back into the lights and fix thebalast down.....and your done...

what i have been told when i worked in blockbuster is that if something is priced wrong, under law we can refuse the sale and have 24 hours to change it back to the right price. we do not have to say, sell a xbox for 1p if its priced like that.

I am wondering about the MOT thing.... Are other changes necessary? I'd be tempted if the car was still fully legal....

they are the same, but not even close to the same quality. ultra are so well made that a set of rear indicator LED bulbs are £22 each!!! and are guarenteed for life.

the hids have a 15 month guarentee!!!!!!

you will fail your mot with these in if you dont have self levelers and washers.

i have levelers but no washers :(

you may have levelers, but they're not automatic! auto ones adjust the head light level on their own, say if you've got a full boot, it won't let your lights dazzle other road users.
you could chance it and hope the mot station doesn't notice your upgrade, or know the legal requirements (unlikely though).

but how do I find out if I have levellers or not? and what washers?

you won't have the auto levelers, and the washers are just like the windscreen washer jets kind of, but spray the headlights instead.
maybe you could wire in normal h4 bulbs for mot then change 'em back?

ok I dont know if I have them as... I have a little dip control for the lights... setting 0-3... and 0 is supposed to be used when it is just the driver etc?

washers... oh right I get ya but Ive seen so many mercs and beamers without them!!! Im talking brand new 2006 models!!! No washers!!! Must be an option for some...

washers shouldnt be a prob though with a lil modding

your level adjuster is a manual one, not auto.
most of the new expensive cars have headlight washers which pop up out of the bumper when spraying only.
but saying that puntos with hid didn't have headlight washers or auto levelers iirc! so is it a definate they're needed by law?

thats cos punto's arent hid...... theyre normal bulbs with a prism infront of them to refract the light like an hid..

yeah they look good. but theyre nowhere near as bright as the hids

why do you need auto levelers and washers? if the car is legal without them then what difference does it make what kind of bulb you have in the lights?

because they are much brighter than standard bulbs and they dont have a "projection / reflection" unit infront of the light in hid's

thus they would be like having you fog lights on all the time at eye level...

the self levelers prevent them from blinding oncoming traffic and the washers keep em clean as dirt can sometimes make them look extremely blue....

The Story (as told by NeX)

It was a cold, dark saturday evening when NeX decided he would go to Hell (frauds) to by a set of HID lights for his car....

NeX: "Hmmm I think I will head up to Hellfrauds in THE BEAST to get some new eyes for my baby," he said to himself in a very sad, selfabsorbed way.

after a couple of minutes of EXTREAME rallying in the beast through the narrow country lanes, NeX arrived in HELL!!! (frauds).

NeX entered the shop full of antisipation at the new lights he would soon posses. He went straight to the "ripspeed" desk.

NeX: "Hi do you have a HID kit in H4 fitment?"
Assistant: "..."
NeX:"You know, the blue lights you see on beamers?"
Assistant: "Er... If you go over there we have some Lazer blue bulbs."
NeX::doh:

Nex made is way to the "Parts" department of Hell and asked another assistant about the HID kits.

NeX: "Hi do you sell HID light kits?"
Assistant: "..."
NeX:"You know, the blue lights you see on beamers?"
Assistant:"Um... Let me go see if i can find someone who can help you." The assistant walked towards a small door behind the desk, the door was marked 666.
Assistant: "Hang on, do you mean Lexus Lights?"
NeX::doh: :doh:

A new assistant emerges from the evil door.

NeX: "Hi do you sell HID light kits?"
Assistant: "No, the closest we have are angel eye kits..."
NeX:

THE END!!!!

one of them actually did the "its all over my head" action, they genuinly know nothing!

so i went on the bay and got a set of those £100 ones in purple :D will do a guide on how to fit them when they turn up :)

what store was it?
cos ill report them, they have to have at least some knowledge of the stock in their store..

hence why im the ripspeed specialist.....

if you asked me a question about anything in the store i could give you the answer straight away....

just cos some part timers may not know what you are on about doesnt reflect on the whole of the halfords staff.... i mean there are 13,500 of us..... just cos you found the one store where all the muppets work means squat

just one question..... was it south of watford gap?
if so. theyre not halfords.... theyre gimps from the land of make believe...

either way they are blinding... I wish ppl around me had some sense... they drive with full beam and fogs on... dazzling others so they can have daylight... ejyaats.

and viva la rip speed... those guys and girls tend to know more than the people at parts. hayes store here in west london is a nightmare so I always go to hounslow or the one near the north circular... the staff know more and know how to use multimeters! the managers are more co-operative and understanding.. i made a huge complaint about the hayes store manager who accused me of tampering with my battery!!! anyhow moving on... I think the fogs will do me for now...

well, im gonna get a set of these hid's for my super s driving lamps.......should scare the shizznit out of a few people..

i'm sure there are some good Halfords staff out there but i have NEVER met them lol,

the one i went to was in Chippenham, but the one in Bath is worse... maybe i should have gone to Bristol they have some mild common sence there.

lol well i'll have to see how the ebay ones turn out... if they ever arrive !

So could i use the normal levelers during day to day use? My boot never has anything in it, Only time it does is when i transport my pc to a event, Which doesn't even make it flinch :)

But if i ever did i could just alter the level by using the manual.

Then swap them back to the "Normal" bulbs for MOT?

Would that work?

acording to the MoT if your car is fitted with Xenons from factory then it requires working levelers and washers. if its aftermarket then it is just a bulb upgrade that doesn't need anything extra.

tho the xenons in my car are the 12000k brightness ones which are the dimmest but also the most purple. and they are still stupidly bright i think it would be very easy to blind people with them, thats why mine are rigged to main beam so that they are only on when other cars are not about...
