Engine mount thingy

Hi gang,
This is my first post..Just got myself a 1990 Micra K10 1.0L this week.Never had a Nissan before so i hope it does me proud.

Wilst i was having a look underneat i noticed what looked like an engine mounting ad broken up and collapased.

The round mounting is underneath towards the back of the engine and it looks to connect to tube which in turn connects to the middle of the car around the area were the gear selector drops through the floor pan.

Are you with me so far and can i get an OEM part from somewhere to do the repair ?

Thanks for now

Paul (Bradford)

it sounds like the rear g/box mount paul (between the 2 gearchange rods ?) is there a lot of engine movement ?
scrapyard, or main dealer probs

K10 engine mounts can be obtained form any good autofactors and they are reasonably cheap. You can also find them on ebay but they tend to be overpriced on there.

Does it look something like this? Without the little bracket on the side and the tall rod type mount on the top (this is an automatic one but the main part is essentially the same)

Yes it does look like this but on the end of a long bar coming from the floor pan were the gear lever drops through.

How would you recommend to get the replacement from

Thanks

You can literally walk into any auto parts & accessory shop and order them at the counter, some will even have them in stock.
The bar you mentioned is part of the gear linkage, there are two arms (long bars) comming from the gear stick to the gearbox. One is the selector arm and connects to the selector that sticks out the back of the gearbox (with the little rubber gaitor around it), the other is the steady arm and connects to a bracket which is bolted onto the gearbox.
Neither of these arms are connected to the mount, or to anything else other than the above, and that goes for all models of k10 except the automatics.
The 1.0L mount can only be used on the 1.0L, but the 1.2 mount can be used on both 1.0L and 1.2. Neither should cost more than £15-£20 brand-new, scrap yards would be cheaper but it's not easy to find k10's in scrappers now.
