why do people hate micra's

They hate them cause rice parts don't fit mostly lol go to any motor factors and youl see Saxo corsas etc cheap rice parts that fit all them but not micras just my opinion lol but to shut them up just say you love haters, they're gettin no gain if it it doesn't faze you so they move on :) works a charm :)

they hate them because other people hate them. they belong to the 3G group (gays, grannies and girls) so any guy who owns them or mods them has the #### taken. people say they suck and other people believe them, and then they are too closed minded to actually give them a try. i have never heard of someone who has actually owned a micra and hated it, only people who "wouldn't be seen dead in one"

well said, Nex.(Y)

I was handed down my Micra and I initially wasn't keen on it but I gave it a chance as it's cheap to run. Everyone I knew was driving BMWs and Audis, and used to borrow my dads business car, so I, like nearly everyone who hasn't had a Micra, thought it would be a little crap(afterall it's nearly always a micra slowing everyone down though isn't it). But it took a couple days to realise that I was completly wrong, and a couple of weeks later to realise how awesome they can be when I slyly overtook some kids dragracing thier Clios and a Corsa on the bybass and watching thier expression:wasntme:
We've now had 8 micras in my family. And we might be expecting our 9th;)

sounds like a new year thing all micra haters are gone,,,,,,yeh i never seen any micra hate
only people who cant drive still exist

that could be true, I've not had any hate for a while, just people who give a puzzled nod, as in 'yeah that works well but I don't know why' lol.

I love micras they have their place within my 700bhp collection! People hate them because people like to hate things they don't understand:)
It's ok I fcuking hate with a passion corsa, Clio, saxo, 106 etc etc ####e

Yes please

There was one near me for ages parked up never being used! And for months I'd said I'll pop round see if he sells it! But forgot, then the day I remembered I poped round to find no car there, being stubborn I knocked to find out what had happened! It was an old blokes who had died, an it had been weighed in by the clueless family, I gave my condolences and said I wish I'd have come sooner as Its a very rare car and I'd have paid allot of money for it :(

That's how I got my love affair with the capri, went past one almost everyday on my way to school, it'd never move from where it was parked....... Might still be there

People also hate them because they just don't like them. People here hate plenty of other cars around. It's just the way of the world. Each to their own.

There not liked because its different people don't like things that are different around here they don't like my micra or my Capri I have to it because they will damage it not really fair should have to hide it they should hide there Zetec s and corsa there just an eyesore funny thing is if you talk to some of the idiots around here they seem to think that there Zetec s is rare and you would prob laugh at them

My first car was a micra and I sold it to get a 106 omg worst mistake in my life wot a pile of crap only had it a month and sold it straight on so I could go out and get another micra , that's the last time I ever copy every1 else

Diahatsu mira or Subaru justy would be cool

My partner had a diatshu cuore it was only a 1ltr but it was rappid he once blow a BMW 318 of the lights the guys face was a picture , and realible wasn't the word he ragged that car everyday but it never failed to start

when i was young and the family car has gone from Isuzu Piaza turbo, Datsun 280C, nissan bluebird, a luxury 2L honda accord SE saloon auto and then into a small blue 1.3 micra SLX i remember i was initially disappointed of the downgradefwn

that all changed when i learned to drive, brought the blue SLX off mom as my 1st car, rebuilt it and fell in luv with it :p

As Ian said, there will always be haters no matter what you do. Even if you own the coolest car on the planet there will be haters who are jealous they cannot have the same, so it's all relative. In fact there was a massive hoo-har over on the Skyline forum a while ago between R35, R34, R33 and GTST owners, so it can happen among ones own kind.

I only came across hate at mainstream car shows, rarely at JAE and so far none at POD or track days unless you have a whole following from a particular group attending and that very much depends on the group.......usually it's just down to one or two individuals. We once took a whole barrage of insults from a bunch of GTI-R owners at JAE once, jap on jap hate lol!

I actually like it to a point, as it makes it even more embarrassing for the individual when you show some up by proving them wrong or handing them their ass as Baz likes to say ;)

I also like to leave it to the 'what goes around comes around' scenario. As I am sure the hecklers at some point become the heckled. The real thing is we stick together and have been around a long time now, not just a flash in the pan.

You get haters everywhere. The civic boys get picked on for small engine sizes and VTEC, the american car guys get picked on for having an engine measured in acres that has the power of a food blender.

My previous car was a fun one, Rover 420sli. Used to get shouts from everyone of 'how's your head gasket?'. Funny thing was, 80,000 miles later, 2 trips to Germany and many long distance drives without breakdown or head gasket fail, they would still shout it. Even the owner of a Supra that came with my group to Germany one year and ####ed his engine royally! (bottom end shells went and engine started knocking like an old fiesta! and this was a bone stock supra with the 2JZ!) He wasn't too impressed with the fact a Rover proved more reliable than his Supra but still ripped on it anyway! Every car I've had has been ripped on at some point. In fact, here's some examples.

1st car = Swift GLX 1.3 = Womans car, lunchbox, not-so-swift
2nd car = Mk5 Escort = Found on rubbish dump, fix or repair daily etc
3rd car = Peugeot 306 dturbo = diseasel, wheezle, french crap
4th car = Honda civic EG3 = VTEC yo (didn't even have VTEC! XD), Ricer, chav etc
5th car = Ford Focus Tddi estate = Grandads car, usual ford lark
6th Car = Rover 420 sli = Grandads car, headgasket, Rover is over etc etc
7th car = Micra Super S = shopping trolley, woman's car, jap crap etc

Sadly a car is something you will always get ripped on. You can own a Ferrari or Porsche and be called a cock. You can own a nice jap supercar and you'll get the fast and furious treatment. You just gotta shrug it off and move on. Water off a ducks back. If you're happy with your car, thats all that matters!

I've never had any of this "your car is this, your car is that", yeah me and a friend share friendly banter about micras and civics but nothing is meant by it. I must live in a car tolerant city where everyone understands its only a car, it gets you from A to B

i was very narrow minded about them i wanted a vw, and as soon as i drove a micra i was hooked and hunted for one as my first car, they are excellent wee cars plus when theyre slammed and get a nice wee set of shoes (wheels) they look excellent... unfortunately mine is only on standerd dirty steels(soon to be blue) and 35s(soon to be chopped) (Y)

They hate them because of their dumpy teapot looks (K11) and broad bean looks (K12). Also the fact that the average age of driver is 89 yrs old, who wont do more than 35mph on a national speed limit road. At best you call them cute, but they're just reliable shopping trolleys with zero image/kudos.
However the pay off is they've got to be the most reliable small car on the road, and so cheap to run and maintain(Y)
I'm off out to buy a new dai cap:laugh:

I also have an American car, I've had ten to date. Let me bust that myth, My 2.5 ton Oldsmobile Regency blew away a v12 Jag in a drag race.

The car in my household that gets the most hate is my girlfriends Peugeot 307. Why?, it's a taxi!.

Roger.

NeX said it best for me. Personally, I've been stuck behind Corsas, Jazzes, Clios and Saxos... but no-one's ever been stuck behind me. Unless they annoyed me, then I might see what I can do ;)

"i been dashin'em about in the rd,:grinning:,,,,,,,,,,,,,now they hate all "o" us"
"thanks taa very much"
...........famous micra rider qoutes

Here in CZE, most of people hate every car which is not a Skoda or just VW-Group :) lot of people I know, said I'm a bit stupid, when I bought a 1.0 Micra instead of 1.3 Felicia and they don't believe that Micra provides better ride dynamics and ride comfort - for less money..they said, that Micra has no inner space at all, but I never has a problem with that and at rear seats there is more space than in a Felicia..but still it calls a old Japan crap, yes of course..I bought with complete original suspension, exhaust and engine from Nissan - never change!... car was 13y old and has 180K kms on clock - and it worked fine..when Felicias need overhaul after they have more then 120K...
