Wheel size mistery solved

Hi guys,

Just fitted 17x7j ET45 wheels with 215/40/17 tyres on my 160 SR..I think I have discovered the upper limit for wheel dimensions without any separators or strange mods.fit perfectly and wheel is within the arch (no margin)

Interested to see what it looks like to be honest.
Pictures are always welcome

I ve ran 17x7 ET37 wheels with 215/45/17 tyres.

Swapped them out for a good summer set.
17x7 ET40 wheels with 205/40/17 tyres and a 5mm spacer on the rear.

And my winters are
16x8 ET30 with 195/45/16 Tyres.
Also with 5mm spacers on the rear

All with at least 30/30 lowering and the winters probably 50/50.

no rubbing arches or tires even with steering.
There is never a limit.
Depends how crazy you wanna go.

If you wanna go a little wider, but stay within the arches ET40 is perfect. Or in your case use 5mm spacers on the front and the rear.

Yeah, pictures please? ;)

Thinking of rims below in 7.5x17, 4x100, ET42 to my vehicle

This is handy and in Finnish, Tire size calculator
Vanha rengas = Old tire
Uusi rengas = New tire
Nopeusmittarin virhe = Speedo error
Renkaan halkaisija = Diameter of tire
Renkaan ympärysmitta = Tire circumference

By the way, I've discovered these rims are original MG ZR 160 wheels, cheap to buy and look awesome with a little paint job.
