Hi guys, just thought I could start a thread and what you can offer to the lovely MSC forum and other members.

As we are all a nice bunch, maybe something's can benefit us. If your a chef and can offer a good recipe to a travel agent who can organise a holiday..

Ill start. :)

I'm an apprentice mechanic with 4years experience, I can offer technical help and can diagnose what could be wrong with your vehicle. Don't hesitate to ask. :)

Now over to you....

Level 3 apprentice mechanic, 3 years in the trade, do eork on petrol cars but i work more with diesels working in a diesel specialist garage,
As jay says if any help needed just ask :)

Trained to level 2 city and guilds mechanic and self taught body work and paint...
Currently working a dead end night job at a Holiday inn in Norwich because Norwich is dry for jobs.
So if you need a friends room rate at any hotel within the chain and some others I'm sure I can help...

'til recently...I was a Catering assistant, for 8 and half years...very glamorous ;)

I'm highly skilled at running around like a looney...but always having a smile on my face...not sure that's helpful to anyone here? LOL

Ooooo and I know a few bar codes by heart!...from the days when our scanner was busted...I learnt all the sandwiches barcodes and the one for Fruit toast too... 5051413272589 :p
plus over 50 PLU codes for waste recording on the computer system *nerd*

if someone was serving at the till...and something wouldn't scan?
"Jen...What's the code for a chocolate cake"..... 102
"What's the code for a steak pie on it's own?"...584
"...and lasagne?" 1005
"what about side salad" by this point I'm rolling my eyes but... 1135

is that any use? o_O

...No?....no...it's just sad isn't it? XD

Just spent a touch over 2 years as a maintenance operative on a holiday park (jack of all trades, master of none). Was a fun job, got to drive random vehicles such as a Lamborghini (unfortunately it was a tractor) and in the snow we drifted petrol utility buggies. I start Monday 8th as a motor caravan technician repairing the non greasy side of motorhomes (interior, plumbing, elecs, gas etc). Will be dull in comparison but better quals, money and prospects.

Been working as a MOT-tester 11 years now.

I can make a hole to your car's rusted sills :)
...Although most of you are lucky, cos I work far away in Finland.

Hydraulic engineer / instrumentation technician

I work for various water companys, I do things from being down the manholes servicing PRV's (pressure reduction valves) & meters and pumps etc then installing electronic controllers and data loggers. Then there's the office side of things where I look at pressure management to ensure all households have enough water pressure but not excessive that will cause bursts etc and the design of new water networks.

So I'm not much help with relation to my work, but I have been restoring classic cars for well over a decade and my degree is in computer science although I've not really put it to use.

I was an IT technician, after doing it for 2 years I hated it. Went back to college, currently studying media and should be going to uni next year to do journalism. For car and beer dosh I worked at Toys R Us for a few months before moving to Clarks last week.

IT support, I fooking hate it but it pays fairly well. Seriously need to find something else.

3'rd yr student I.T & Net Grad Middlesex Uni

tweaks, hacks, and online mumbo jumbo - and any help on anyone visiting sunny Malta

Mechanic....17 years now. First 5 back in England working on rusty cars and then over here in Ireland where we have one of the strictest roadworthyness test in europe but also have probably the crappiest roads too . Always worked for independants, would never consider working for a dealership, especially in this economic climate.
Spend most of my days being tormented by the ever increasing complexity of modern cars and their electronics, mainly diesels these days.

Mechatronics Engineer at Rolls-Royce. I know enough to know when I've got no effin clue and call in a contractor. I learnt everything I know about cars on a car witg carbs and a points ignition system so I'll probably be more help with k10 problems than k11+
