I'm told that my SLX is "NSF wheel bearing to excess play", what is it exactly?

Firstly NSF, isn't that the drivers side?
Wheel bearing play to excess, is that where if I shake the wheel it'll wobble?

Now checking the drivers side, it's fine but the passenger side moves a little.

This bad?

nsf means the passenger side front

this can be bad in most cases so get it changed better safe than sorry imo

NSF = NEAR SIDE FRONT,

basically, ive always known this as NEAREST the Curb,

With OSF = off side front

meaning OFF the CURB, kinda thing... its how I remember it anyway..

Sorta don't get it
nearest and off the kerb, but that depends on the way you park car or does that mean when you're just driving?

Anyways, my link, is that what I need?

by law you have to park your car with the back end of your car facing the on flow of traffic so that the reflectors glow, so the passenger side will always be on the kerb side thus NS/OS but that doesnt happned too much now so..............

got my terminology wrong

yes that is as long as its for your year of micra, also you will have to remove the wheel hub from the car and hopefully if your lucky you could try hammering the old bearing out but to put the new one in you might have to use a hydralic press unless someone know of something else you can use

Cheers Fordy, as I'm trying to sell SLX "as is" with no MOT I'm telling potential buyers all the details so might leave it to them :D

wheel bearings are not a difficult job, they are just awkward in that they dont like to come out, but if its knackered then you can batter the living daylights out the old one, sand down the housing with emery paper and grease up then put the new one in with a wooden hammer, making sure its all the way in, job done!
