What to check when buying a K12.

Hi there,

I am viewing a 2003 Micra S 5dr with 50k mileage after work today and just wondered if there is anything I specially need to look out for, apart from the obvious rust/brakes/engine etc checks you do when buying any car.

I've had a quick search around and I can't find any common problems with this car! The only negative ones being bootspace, which doesn't bother me as I've had a Fiat Cinquecento for 5 years! :laugh:

The asking price is £2750, which according to Parkers is about right.

Check to see if any recall work has been carried out. There were a number of them. One in particular relating to the boot lock.

the camchains were an issue on the early k12,s eh

there is some of the pbs I get on mine.

the "thing" (I don't know the name in english, soory) that allow to pull down the rear seats may broke at long use

check if the nemman has been replaced. It was a "great" pb too.

Is this camchain problem a major issue? If for example a 2003 model is working fine at 50k, is this a good sign?

i would think that the problem ones have been rectified by now, but there are a few threads of this ilk around
