What next..?

Yep i think she did with me also! Haha! Hey maybe shes on commission........ ;)

Where you thinking of getting the exhaust? Custom made you can tell them what you want, looks and noise to your own spec. I know they not the cheapest but it will be exactly how you want it.

I've been toying with the idea of a Powerflow system. Can get them quite cheap here in Sheffield. :D

Haha, might not just be commission possibly Jens shop? ;)

I would mate but I dont think I could warrant that type of money, also dont think my insurer would be very fond on the idea :( think my car will be staying as it is for quite a while now, mainly just the little things :)

Just out of curiosity, does anyone happen to know what type of bulbs are in this micra? Really keen on them, providing they're not too expensive? (I'm 100% in love with this o.o)

Possibly LED conversion? o_O

My k12 is fine thanks, she frightened an eegit in a pug earlier this evening.
Lights went green, I pulled away, seemed I left him in my dust...well puff of smoke, she's a diesel after all :p
He obviously wasn't too happy when he caught up as he nearly went into a kid on a scooter, luckily the scooter got back at him as he too knew how to accelerate after a bend and got back around to hold him up again LOL

Still getting a steady 68 mpg, need to make yet another set of cds for her though, starting to get bored of some of the tracks on each of the 6 discs already and I only burnt them a couple of months ago <_<

Ah thank you! I had no idea, saw the bright lights and was in awe :)

Haha the dirty diesel Micra, just in a days work! Oh my god, 68mpg is absolutely crazy! I'd say I'm probably topping out between 35-40 max? Sadly mine doesn't have the mpg counter in the dash, I do drive her very steady though couldn't rag her around...

Oh my, the joys of the soundcloud app a stable internet and an aux cable really do come in handy these days ;)

OK guys, here is the update for the weekend.

Lowered with Eibech Pro Sport Line!!

1st of all, the Micra's bolts are rusty so be prepared to lose some patience!!

Rear suspensions - passenger side was done within 15mins or so, however the driver side was pain in the butt.. it was my fault! Instead of loosen the bolt i was actually over tightening the bolt therefore i ended up damaging the bolt a bit. I realised the mistake after a while, eventually got round it :-D

Front suspensions.. My goodness me!! That is more painful then I imagine. All the bolts are rusty especially the bot with linking rod attached to it.. I had to take it to the garage for them to cut the bolt because it wasn't moving at all. But luckily I was going to replace the both wishbone anyway, so I got both wishbone and link rod replaced.. Sweet!! :) :-D

Here is some pic of the job

Bright enough to be HID conversation!!

I have HID conversation however because my lights are tinted, it doesn't dazzle any opposite drivers :-D

My advice is.. If you want HID conversation.. Get the headlights tinted as well :-D

Looking so much better mate! Is it the Eibach 50mm springs?

Yeah, the garage I had mine done at had the exact same problem as you with the wishbone sadly, least I got it fixed for free though  Just out of curiosity mate does your back end sit higher than the front?

Oo, maybe its the HID I'm interested then, I just really want those bright lights. Are the kits relatively pricey or..?

I'm not sure about the spring mate, got them 2nd hand inc shocks (really good condition tho). Them mens don't know how low it is. (Can't complain) lol

Now considering 16" alloys :-D

I got my HID kits for £15 inc delivery :-D (deals like this don't stay for long, just like the K12 bodykits) :-D

Here is the cheapest one (I think) on ebay. Easy to fit. YouTube has the info.. Will take about 20-30mins..
http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=281413571138&alt=web

You gotta buy H4 Hi/Lo for Micra K12.

6000k is the best IMO.. 8000k has more blueish tint to it.

:-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
Keep in mind there is a new law out since April 2012 about HID headlights therefore some MOT garage are picky on that.

Love the lowness Azb! I want that kit lol!! Just replaced a broken spring from the front passenger side on mine. Safe to say, Micra won! Took me ages and eventually a grinder to take the Roll bar bush bolt off lol! The rust on these nuts and bolts is unreal! Even with WD40 it was a mission! But its done now and handles nice again!!

Chris, do you know what power your k12 is??

Whats size alloys are you sat on at the minute? May I have to upgrade to those eibach ones, looks lower than mine :(

ah thank you very much mate, will be buying this soon and hopefully try and fit it (noob adventures) :D I'll just remove and replace for mot and change them back if possible?

Mines only the 64HP one mate, didn't realise there was 2 when I bought it :( still did 0-60 in 11 seconds (had my mate timing me) so its not too bad!

Cheers Leepey.. If only you read the 'K12 Bodykit' msg few weeks back, this guy was selling 5 bodykit for peanut price :-D (or by the time you read the forum it was too late). Keep looking on eBay.

Rusty nuts are very painful.. Even the garage guy was sweating, I had to get my hands dirty too :)

Chris.. She's sitting on 15" at this moment.. But I still have the wheel arches to fit in.. So she will defo look much better.

You can always take the HID lights off and replace the original lights before MOT.. Simple job.

(My hands are big, therefore I used to struggle changing the bulbs.. My solutions was remove the 3rd bolt behind the bumper, so whenever I want to change the bulb. I just remove the top two bolt to have easy access to the bulb. Works very well!!)

I have another update now.. Couldn't resist the temptation.. HeHe

Here is the pic :-D :-D

Some 16's would fill that arch gap nicely mate! Ever thought about some multispokes? What color wheels you thinking?

Will get those hid's ordered then mate, think they'll look really good :) Haha, having small hands may have finally given me an advantage, changing the bulbs was easy ish for me so this should be no bother with my midget hands.

Keep us updated on your progress looks like its coming on well mate, also like the little spot of carbon fibre on the wingmirrors! Also mate, I haven't gotten around to doing my fly eyes on the front, just out of curiosity would a hair dryer help at all? Like what you've done with the wingmirrors?

Just saw some 16" for £60 lol.. Tempted!! I will defo stick to black alloys.. It's cheaper for me to spray the alloys if it get scratches.. (just use 'Pound store' matt black paint)

Btw.. You see the alloys I have now, cost me £2 (2 cans for 2 quid) to paint them matt black :p :p

For any wrap or tinting.. Hairdryer is MUST have. (Heat gun is way to hot), with little bit of heat on the wrap you can stretch a bit to go round the curves.

For the headlights, start from the bottom to the top, use the hairdryer to heat the tint where need stretching. Once you get the top, slit the tint up to the side lights for it to over laps. Otherwise it is impossible to cover the stupid egg shape side lights!

Good luck mate.

Nice azb! Unfortunately if i did that in the area i live someone would prob nick them lol! But if this just the covers that come off the mirror, i may chance it and see :) Lovely little mod if you have the patience! Hehe!

Chris, i got the 80bhp one, and its quick as, plus the handle well even with the crappy steel wheels i got on it atm.

Ive gone for the black and silver theme on mine. The standard hubs were scratched and chipped to death so i took them off, sanded, prep'd and sprayed them black. Still going good and thats something like 2 months ago.

Was looking at this HID kit last night. Looks way to confusing for me to do! Might just get some of those ice bulbs instead.

Im going to try and put a nice cold air feed from the wing, into the engine bay straight into the air box tomorrow. Should the weather let me do so! Any recommendations on this? If you guys have done it??

Sound really good. Let us know how it goes. B-)
What I've done with mine.. I used wire ties to secure the intake pipe under the bar where it usually secured into.. So when I drive the cold air comes in through the front grill.. :-D
See the pic.. (Don't know if you can see the pipe on the 2nd pic)

Awesome! Just what i needed!! Sadly weather was pants today so ive not had a minute to do it. BUT tomorrow is another day lol

Good evening gents! I have completed the air induction mod.. With some cable ties, trim tools and some good old fashioned pulling and swearing! Lol!

Any way, took the pipe off the top of the front beam. After breaking those annoying Nissan clips that seem to hold everything on lol!

I looked at where i could get a decent air feed but immediately saw a big piece of plastic at the side of the radiator. Went from the bottom to the top and inconveniently came up and behind the front air vent.

So i checked exactly what it was protecting and it could have only been the alternator itself. The only thing behind it is the exhaust manifold heat shield.
So, i wrestled to get the "annoying" clips off, put two cable ties through the holes and a nice yank, out it come.

Be warned you will need to remove the clip from the left side where the indicator is so you can pull the grill forward to remove the plastic sheet.

After plastic sheet/shield was removed, i move the standard induction pipe down below where it originally sat and go me good old cable ties out.

After a bit of swearing, blood and some skin, the whole pipe is now secured to the main front beam.

Pics are not the best quality but i think it gives you the idea :)

Well done! Really good modd. Cold air defo helps a lot. Hehe.

What's next??

Hehe yes! Very very similar....But u forgot to mention that horrid piece of fingers scuffing plastic lol!!

Next on the list is these body kit bits off Chris. We've agreed a price so i just gota wait till pay day when i can paypal him the payment!

Then im going for a set of Almera GTi 15 inch alloys :)

I just emailed leepy and shall warn you all like wise, don't try to fit earlier nissan wheels on later ones. The k12 and k13 micra, note e11 onward, pixo ect are all clio based wheel set ups, they are about 60mm center bore I think, earlier nissans are same pcd but center bores are 57/58mm. With enough force and some grinding they go on,but removing will damage the car! I'm wandering if flipping the air hose over to rad side will get more cold air rather than over the manifoid? Anyways my what's next, dropping the bumper replacing the crash bar,and while bumper is off sorting me grill out. Oh and in for measuring up for some vinyl work tomorrow :) yay

Oh yeah, i remember u saying about the vinyl work! I looked at the right side for the airflow, dont think it would work because of the radiator. On the flip side, could always get some of the heat resistant tape and wrap it. Could be the way forward?? I do however have a little hole, about 8-10mm in the back of the pipe. Would it benefit me to tape this hole up??

Left mine as is,not sure if the hole is to let dirt stones ect out. Not letting on about what vinyl is planned shall just treat you all to the pics when its done :)

Ah true! Could be for that, coz ud prob get a lovely collection in the box on the tube if not ;) haha!

Ill see how it drives 2moro with just the mod, then ill quickly tape it up and give it a go again. Will let u know how if it works.

Will look forward to the vinyl work pics :) Was contemplating getting mine fully wrapped until i got a quote from whats ment to be the cheapest vinyl specialists in Sheffield.

Looks good guys :) does this get more cold air into the engine more efficiently compared to where it is usually?

I always think the pipe is too close to manifold anyway, dropping it like that might make air feed even warmer. Best mod I've seen for it was a carbon tube filter in front the battery, they moved the relay box, somewhere??,but sounded lush!! Vinyl should have already been done, vinyl was cut and everything but the chap doing the job kept cancelling and sometime not until I turned up for the appointment,so told him to stick it,and going elsewhere now!

Tbh.. I do feel the difference when I'm driving.. Then again it's 998cc :p :p so not much will improve in any way. Still I feel good about doing it tho :-D

I don't think manifold will heat up the air that quick specially if you're driving 30/40mph. But maybe if you're at the traffic lights. :-/

Leepey, the pipe also has a little hole in the middle, I'm guessing it was for a sensor or something, but I just left it as it is.. I will be replacing that pipe soon anyway.. I'm going for a flexible pipe that can be taken right on the grill. Not going to fix it at the bottom in case of dirt/stones goes in.

Ill eventually go for a nice piece of shiny flexi-pipe ;) But for time being its only a couple of cm's lower than standard so I don't think the temps would effect it to much. My little boy has woke up with a temp so I'm sat downstairs with him looking on bay for mk2 clio bits lol ;)

Do you not have 4 lugs securing the headlights? I've got one securing the bumper to the headlights. I did same as you and removed the bolts inside bumper and never put them back, its supposed to be done through the wheel arch, bloody silly design!

Yeah all the lugs are there, just not the bolt.. Lol!!

At least I can take the bulbs out without pulling my beards!! :-D :-D

Headlight design is so crap, can you imagine 'changing the light bulb on a motorway.. dark, snow, windy and rainy days'. :-D :-D

After the first time I had to change the bulbs I lagged connectors in wd40. Wasn't gonna be taking whole casings out just to change bulbs ever again, sidelights still awkward to change, but can be done without taking everything out,as can the main beams now, thankfully!!!

Ive not done a light bulb change yet. Sounds fun! NOT! Still thinking of these HID kits, but still also thinking about a nice set of the Ice Blue's

Ah.. some people with small hands :p

I had few bruises n cuts for the 1st time.. Then I tho that's it.. No mercy!! Took the grill off and squeezed my hands through to get rid of the bolt behind the bumper!!

Funny enough, I paid £15 for my 6000k HID kits and the lights are still going without any issue :-D

I had my arm up between the bumper to get that bolt and someone went and lent against the front of the bumper while me arm was there, choice words were had as my arm was crushed, and the cuts!

Hey guys! Testing was good! Big improvent! If u send me your email addresses ill send u the video :)

Ah Abz, you chose the extremely short straw my friend with the 1L ;) only kidding mate, I imagine it's no slower than mine. Got to say as my first car I'm dead chuffed with everything in general, I've owned it over a year now and the only thing thats needed replacing was the battery, spark plugs on the last service so I don't think thats bad going at all! Will definitely be staying true to Japan for many years to come :D considering a lexus 220d a couple of years down the line and when I can actually afford the insurance! But thats quite a while ago so the micra will do for now ;)

Glad it wen't well leepey mate thats awesome, wouldnt mind a cheeky copy of that video if you don't mind mate, will message you my email if thats alright mate? On a side note, has anyone here considered a re-map? Think I'm going to be phoning admiral just out of curiosity whether I could afford the insurance..

On a side note, think it's kind of sad these days how everythings down to insurance and not the actual cost of the modification, like my stupid 50mm lowering limit but thats a complete different rant! I thoroughly enjoy being branded as a boy racer (not)...

I've had worse days haha. I just checked insurance quotes for this year, specially now the kit is all fitted. Every declared £214,in the bag *wooosh* In regards to headlights, what sorta temps are hids running at. My mot man reccomended I remove the xenons I had in as the heat they get to is much higher than normal halogens, fine with older cars with glass lenses, not with most modern cars with plastic. Do hid, leds, smds ect run cooler than xenon and halogen?

Mines the 1.0l e too. Comes a time where engine size matters not. For me was praticality, cheap to run car I could easily fit a 4 tier wedding cake in lol. Started out 1l nova saloon, then 1.3 hyundai, and micra is car 3

Couldn't agree more mate, Micra is more practical, insurance, keeps the wallet nice n healthy.

I'm surprised it can still pull when fully loaded (5 people) hehe

They do fine for 1l. Only prob herears worst nightmares, bowgy, pool, fraddon and nancherow. Worst hills ever!! Lol Mine needs a good look over once mot ect is out the way, isn't its usual pokey self recently. Gearbox oil change is first port of call, never been done while I've had it,an cars on 103k now. Time these jobs were sorted

Thats actually really good mate! Second year insurance, with wheels springs and 1 years ncb was £800 without a blackbox so not too bad.. Haha, it's never a downgrade if it's for a micra mate! ;) It is so practical and for a 1.2l I don't think many stock cars with similar power could beat it. And the reliability I love to bits

Cant see there being any power differences between 1l and the 1.2 I guess? Get it done mate, hope its running back to normal by the end of it :)

Only problem I find is when theirs 5 people, one of them being your mate whose nearly 17 stone in the back aswell and your staring down the barrel of the biggest hill for absolutely miles! ;)
