What is a 1.3 as fast as/faster than?

I'm sure this has been asked before but I'm too lazy to search :wasntme: I'm wanting to get a 1.3 in the next couple of months (need to get saving) and was just wondering what one with basic engine mods is as fast or faster than from peoples real life experiences (as opposed to just comparing predicted bhp figures) any races done off road obviously... I know some people on here have been to Santa pod (Eliot?)

You mean Other cars?
what would be the point in comparing unless you were to race it and in that case you would have to consider everything from suspension set up to aerodynamics :D

Also... What size blanking plug did you use for the boot!
 
haha ive raced my 1.3L micra........ its faster from 20 to 50 than a Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6L 8v, and very similar speeds to a Ford Feista 1.4L 16v........... if its got around 80bhp and weighs around 1000Kg, the micra is faster as its only 800Kg!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
extra little note, the xsara picasso was then exactly the same speed as the micra. remember that its a 1.6L 8v and weighs 1245Kg, only 3Kg heavier than a Mk4 VW Golf..!!!!!
 
I have hit a 15.9 1/4 a few times on my 2nd n/a micra. Was never able to match/beat that with my recent n/a ones but have always hit below 16.4

I've done a 1.2 75 bhp clio in my 1.0 facelift machine before (Tis funny, but i have raced my friends clio quite alot and my 1.0 really is going as fast as his clio, off the line sprints i always win too)

I'm assuming a properly looked after 1.3 micra could apserlutely kain 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 and even push up to 1.6 litre little hatches of all classes, but i can only guess, just make sure your micra has no features, no fuel, light wheels and a good driver (Y) haha.
 
Yeah was just wondering, cause it annoys me when people say 'oh but
My 1.4 must be faster than a 1.3' that extra 100cc means nothing on it's own though
Edit: can't remember the exact size off the top of my head, was about 31mm iirc
 
I'm not sure, apparently the 1.4 block is quite heavier (Y) All i know is that the 1.3 is mean't to pull quite much more significantly then the 1.0 I've still not had the pleasure of being in one, but my 1.0 is pulling beautifully after 112k miles and alot of neglect :)

ive beaten standard rs turbo's up to 100mph same with glanza's, ive beaten alot of vtr's and some vts's/106 gti's, soon to be raping them!
 
I had a '1.4' k11 (CGA4) but its pretty much the same as a cg13 due to the gear ratios, extra weight in the second facelift etc.

Just keep it light with sensible wheels and with a few mods it will trounce a 1.4 saxo/106, 1.4 corsa b etc.
 
I suppose the strip is the only definite way of proof, at least then you know the other driver is trying his hardest because he has paid to be there!

I'll say the complete opposite. I have lost to plenty of VTS' and lost twice to a 106 GTI at POD in 2010 which was running easy mid to low 15sec passes. Most of the ones that remain on the car scene have the usual bolt ons most are running 135-140bhp easy, so it's more like a raping the other way around.

EDIT: it comes up a 1.8 on the iphone reg check thingy which is still good to beat
 
Kept up with a R5 gt turbo he was 4 up at the time and we were two up in our 1.3 Gx on a run down to the pod , he was defo trying even got a nod when we pulled along side , up to 90 nothing in it but would of cained me if we were both running solo !!!!!
