what did you do to your micra today ?

Put together some temporary bomber seats for the rat till I get my dimple die and hole punch set.

I fitted the radio out of my old car into the Micra which was a huge faff. Picked up a wiring harness, turns out Sony HU's use s proprietary connection so I bought a universal Sony adapter to plug into the Nissan one I bought. That got it working so I fitted it and nothing. Tried the factory one again, nothing. Then I realised none of my dials / odo or dome light work which started to worry me. Turns out I blew a fuse that oddly powers all of these things. All working now!

reinstalled the headlight inner by screwing the adjuster in fully to pop it back on, I was well happy when that worked, an apprentice wound it out too far setting the head lights for mot, couldn't find a useable expansion tank so I have plastic welded over the brittle hole, hope that works! And soldered new wires into the headlight connection as it has been bugging me for 8 years! Also trying out the rust beating boeshield t9

Been to Nissan for some new aux belts and 5litres of fear oil , worked out cheaper then eBay and europart and it's oem so from I've seen should last well
So may go and see how much the filters, and that are ,
Tho i do forget the Sunderland plant is 5 miles away at times lol

Just get one of the eBay header tanks, they are a copy of the original and not bad a problem yet , and I tried Yamaha weather proof stuff unless it was perfect beforehand didn't really do much

Took out and cleaned the MAF sensor today, just for the hell of it! Had to buy a set of 5 sided star with a hole in the middle screwdriver bits to undo the 2 screws holding the sensor in, TS20 is the size needed.

My £8 blower motor resistor finally arrived. Took 5 minutes to fit and now I have adjustable fan speed! The knock off is larger than the original but seems to work perfectly.

Drove it for 2 days running without any juddering or fast flashing indicator .... the joys of new HT leads and a new rear indicator bulb! Back to happy Micra motoring!!!

Uncovered it from a week away with family at xmas, just before i covered it , i changed the plugs and the fuel filter, put in a new air filter just for luck. a few days before i covered it , i cleaned the MAF sensor. WOW its just come alive!! plugs fitted were Bosch +4s. I know a lot of people dont recommend them, but looking inside the engine, "Bosch" is mentioned everywhere!! . I have a very lively K11. :)

I did an oil change on it, got a genuine Nissan filter (Made in France, unfortunately :( ) for it.

I had hoped to get a lot done this weekend, this thing needs attention, but I just couldn't work up the motivation the last few days. I need to resolder the MAF, paint the front bumper and various gouges along the car, paint the wheels etc. Lots to do, but the mechanicals are important!

I managed to somehow fix my central locking, dome light and lights on buzzer by removing a fuse and putting the exact same one back in! Micra!

I also adjusted the clutch however the pedal doesn't return correctly still. I need to adjust the free play at the pedal end and I also feel like when the clutch was done (Right before I bought it someone put a clutch in and a genuine Nissan clutch cable) I don't think they cleaned and greased the output shaft, feels like the throwout bearing isn't freely moving along there. So I think I'll get a Aisin clutch kit and do all that soon, even though the clutch is fine, the workmanship wasn't!

However I think I will be starting my painting of various bits this weekend provided the weather is nice!

Well serviced bumblebee last night and it started to rattle , appears to be the water pump is dying ,
And the newly acquired gti, alloys on the celebration , and started some of the rust work

How many miles on the Bumblebee? My water pump bearing is rattling too now, 131000 miles!
98k nearly 20year Old it's intermittent , and it's had 20k in 2 years over the 500 or had been averaging for many years
See how long it lasts its not leaking or gets warmer then usual so hold out for abit

Tried that trick of mixing 30% white vinegar and water to spray on windows at night to stop ice forming in the morning .... amazed ... it worked!

Doors still stuck shut but saw another article that said to spray low cal cooking oil on door rubbers, wipe the loose off and seems that should stop the rubbers sticking to the frame. Trying that one next!

Started on the rust
It has a receipt for welding on its last mot for £130 for that haha
chopped the events rear sills, coil cones , crash bar (got another one)
arch is been stripped, tho it's that bloody cold it may need to be reins :/
but when done it will be decent , rest is fairly recent

Tell you, this is one amazing trick .... just went out and one rock solid frozen 106, an ice berg Vauxhall and the Micra windows are still just water and mist on them. Put this one maybe two days back and is more like a 50% white vinegar mix now but it really does work. As normal I'm probably last to find out about a trick you most likely know about but is like voodoo magic here :)

Wed sorted my mates corsa Tbh who ever.designed the timming chain wants.shooting , and again fram filters are crap , and yesterday and today some goodies turned up for the celebration,
Still waiting for front dampers ,pads , the got to get paint and lowering coils , that should be most of the parts to get done, I think haha ,car is costing a ton
Tho see what the morning brings snow wise

40mpg that is all lol, (it's solidly stuck at that)
And realized it's a catfish of a car or hides how dirty it is and in pics (except from my old phone) the paint comes out great when it's faded and laquer peel lol

So got the engine out of the scrapper , and took that in, and came out with another that's clean as ,
And had to get a line up pick haha

Fitted an immobiliser! Want to avoid a 3rd time drive off, spray the windows black, fill up at the Shell and razz it round until the rozzers take it to the compound and pay £150 to release it!! Works a treat.

And ordered a full set of locks with duplicates and master off ebay for £34 inc steering lock .... not bad.
