Found and fitted my super s steering wheel today. Had the horn wires cut so I went about resoldering them. Realised afterwards that the wheel in the car would have uncut cables so just swapped them over. The wheel is the same size but quite a bit chunkier. I like it

On Thursday my front box exhaust weld failed and the mid pipe decided to wrap itself around the rear axle but the back box survived intact! Today I removed the back box and disassembled the remaining mid pipe from the connector plate and cleaned the back box. To my amazement the back box was mint and shiny and stainless steel? I posted a pic on the MSC Facebook group page and a fellow Micra enthusiast informed the stainless steel back box was offered as a OEM factory optional extra and was very rare lol! Also last year I had alot of problems with my drivers door central locking mechanism which resulted in locking myself out whilst the key was still in the ignition if I shut the door. Although I stripped out the mechanism several times and thought I rectified it the problem it started to play up again and locked me out last week! So today I removed the door card to have a look and I noticed the locating bolt for the rods guide plate had moved slightly so I corrected this and low and behold it cured a years worth of misery in seconds lol! B-)

Replaced my front calipers and disks with original Micra ones while I refurbish my 100nx ones. Replaced the master cylinder seals as the pedal feel was a bit lacking. Also the nearside CV is knocking when I corner, so that'll need replacing, and the boot is torn on the offside one.

Today I visited the JDM March for maybe the last time to remove: the ecu, alternator, dizzy unit, bonnet stay, every relay, drivers side fuse box and steering wheel airbag. Might still remove power window mechanisms? :-S

Been on trying to do my clutch since 4 :(

haven't even got the gearbox out just not enough light in the day. doesn't help the fact i've never done one before and im working on my back.

if anyones from north east and would like to come do the job i'll pay lol

Anyone know how many bolts holds gearbox in. Can't seem to see any more ( doesn't help being on my back ) tried wobbling it but doesn't want to come off. So thinking there's a bolt somewhere

First Micra in the last Pic seems like e gun shot out the door.
Here in Sardinia (Italy) is impossibile find rust on the cars (one of the few positive things when you live on a Mediterranean island )
Ciao.

I managed to change clutch & put it back together but i cant check it as the damm down pipe bolts snapped in cat
So I've had to remove manifold to hopefully get them drill out some time this week.

I just pray that the damn thrush bearing is on inside the gearbox. knowing the look i have its fell off when fitting the gearbox back in:confused:

Got a tyre blow out on the Roskirk stages, then smashed the drivers wing mirror off and dented the wing B y hitting a water barrel through a chicane . She does go well with a 1275 and full Janspeed now though. Ended up with 3rd in under 1400 which I'm chuffed with as I ran most of the day with brake fluid leaking from the master cylinder so the brakes only worked sometimes when I pressed the pedal haha.

Just finished and fitted the colour coded (Nissan Lava mettalic) interior dash air vents which I think modernises and enhances the look of the dash. Still got some final details to do like the open/close vent dials etc! The mod was quite fiddly and time consuming but I did prep the vents by cleaning with acetone, keying with very fine wet and dry and applying 4 thin coats of paint and 2 coats of lacquer! Also removed the power window motor's from the JDM March for spares for my Cabriolet! B-)

I've removed Steering Wheel Cover. Looks better without I think. Today I gave the Micra an Oil and Filter change. I haven't done one for a while so got quite OCD with constantly checking underneath for leaks. Damn that Filter is awkward to get to. So far so good haven't spotted leaks yet. Finally I repaired the 3rd Brake Light back Cover because after replacing a bulb ages ago I snapped the fastener and so it kept falling off :)

Replaced both CV joints. Only one was knocking on turning but for the price £9 each might as well replace both. A lot less hassle than i thought it would be. About half an hour a side. Time to book it in for the MOT now.

Cost a bloody fortune for two bolts and gasket £26

As the GFs Preface is currently off the Road, I took these out of it and fitted them in My Micra. I don't know if these are Dealer fit because there is no Nissan branding on but they fit better than My Halfords Mats.
I also gave Oil a top up because I couldn't put Oil in the Filter and then I replaced the Air Filter. There is another filter thing in the Air Box so I just gave that a clean and put it back in. :)

Today on the 2003 1.4SE+ I finished refurbishing the rubber door seals, I had already had done the drivers door and found small spots of corrosion under the seal which I treated. I first removed the seals and cleaned them with hot soapy water and then wiped them with disinfectant wipes I then treated them with rubber conditioning solution. It is amazing how much dirt and moss was in/on them and this can cause the rubber to breakdown and become brittle. Also I found some more small spots of corrosion on the door top channel which I will treat! B-)
