what did you do to your micra today ?

Made proper adaptor top spring cups, so can use the (drilled out) K11 topmount properly with corsa B coilovers. With my thrust bearing method (one pressed in each side of topmount bush), I think I've come to a nice solution.
Stock suspension is going back on this weekend, then i'll rebuild my dying front shocks, modify the rear lower adaptors to allow water to drain more adaquately, fit my new top spring cup, and sort something a bit better for holding the brake hose clear of the shock.

Took the gearstick back out and rewelded all the joints. Much better now, grew a pair and cranked the settings up on welder and refited it, much better position for driving now it leans to the back rather than to the front :)

Got some tyres fitted because the fronts were close to DANGEROUSLY buggered and the backs were the wrong size. Now my little Box Car is sitting on 185-55/14 rubber all round on the standard rims. It'll look better when I finally get around to buying springs, but it feels better already :)

got stuck getting into a classic car show at atwell martin museum, had a load of old blokes push me off, saw my bumper was basically dragging alot because the stupid splitter made the cable ties holding it into the arch come off and took the whole front end off there and then haha, parked up and got the splitter off and put it all together, got all the oldens a bit excited i think haha! was chatting to a bloke obsessed with nissans and datsuns, has 2 datsun fairladies, cant remember the full name of it but a RHD one of only 78 ever made and the same model but LHD one of only 180 something ever made! absolute beauty! was telling me he restored it from a rotting mess in a shed in south africa and only finished 2 years ago!

1st in class, 19th overall! Caught and passed 1.4 MG, 1.6 Nova, 1.6 C2, 1.3 Mini, MK2 Escort(twice, he didn't have problems either!), and almost passed a 1.6 206 3 times.
Beat so many higher powered cars in the little beast!
Gearbox topped out 85mph @ 7000RPM but the tight sections were rapid.
Happy happy!

Well done

well done jordan
WDIDT ? fitted the 2 x bigger alternator pulley that i used on my previous k11,s (a modded waterpump pulley actually)
if you grind some metal from the back of the mount you can still use the stock belt :)

Diff was great, not my best day bhind the wheel, too tired by far....

Coolant sensor fixed itself during the day!

NS drivshaft nut was undoing itself during the day, paint witness marks proved this, did it back up and it ripped through the castleated nut cover which the split pin should stop.

How have others with slipper diffs stopped this?

Lol, SirChris gets this. Copious quantitied of Loktite. Medium strength (green) would be best, but you might get away with low strength (blue).

when my gripper LSD was initially too aggressive yrs ago and the clutchpack was shuttering loudly violently during turns, it tends to shock the LH driveshaft like an impact gun and loosened the LH shaft nut and ruined the wheel bearing.

nowadays there's less preload after wear-in so the LSD is progressive n smooth and I've threadlocked the driveshaft nut with red locktight to make sure it stays tight.

Avoid red, it's designed to need heat to be removed... it's for permanent applications like locking in studs, heating the driveshafts with a blowtorch when the hubs are packed with grease sounds like a bad idea to me.

A **** load of locktite super feking strength.

It wasn't too aggressive ... You should of given it time

it was too aggressive for my application from the unpredictable mid corner on/off engagement which really upsets the suspensions balance and thus driver confidence in the cars consistancy. now with less preload and a 1.5way ramp, the transition is alot smoother, quiet and the ramp still works as normal under loading so the engagement is progressive and controllable therefore consistant confidence in the cars behaviour on/off track.

time - I ran it for few thou miles with all that violent shutter clanking vibration till I noticed that the preload had eventually vanished to zero. opened the diff only to find the preload ring was completely shattered apart so running it any longer did no good at all.

I want to sit in your car when you track it sometime :) would be nice to see someone else's driving style and how they use micra. More curious cause I haven't seen many people use micras at fast paces. Would be good to see so I can improve my own driving.

keep an eye on blog when I plan my next trackday event and when ur free and nearby the track, you can hire or buy a helmet and hav a ride. me n andy r at east kirkby airfield next sunday.

I got loadsa POV onboard videos on ytube to see how I drive

Just pulled the carpet out and removed most of the felt soundproof backing so that it can go back in when I get the heat gun on the other soundproof bits, and also FINALLY did a quick fix for the gearstick return spring (which will last about 20 minutes, knowing my bodging skills ;)), and most of the bolts sheared off of the heatshield in the process. :/
