Finally been out to the garage and tried a new hut nut to solve the OSF hub nut un-doing issue due to the action of the LSD.

I found that the K12 Micra hub nut is the same size and dimensions, but has a nylock insert, which should help stop the un-doing action. Also fitted it with a load of thread-lock, so hopefully it will solve the issue.

Interesting to note Matt :)
K10 drive shaft thread is the same as K11s so its useful for all

About 10 bodies by the looks of it.

The "40mm" springs I got for the back were actually cut down further so it's way lower at the back, and I'm on standard shocks so I need to fix it quick.

Ideally I would, but we had trouble getting the rear springs out, and destroyed one in the process. Couldn't get spring compressors on to take them out, and the axle wouldn't go down far enough either.

Stock rear springs won't come out even with the shocks out as the axle travel is limited by rear brake hoses, so you have to remove those and the rear arb if fitted or be very clever and brave with the spring compressors...

It's very odd that your axle wouldn't drop down to get the springs out. After hearing how the suspension bush bolts size I removed them all cleaned and greased them. Only took a couple of hours but should save time in the long run. Maybe try that eh. For the future.

Yeah didn't remove the brake lines or ARB. Did unbolt the shocks from the bottom though.

What's the best rear jacking point? Didn't want to use the sills.

I had this thought
And then I thought if I don't trust my sills to be jacked up, I don't trust them when driving the car.
You should probably get them looked at if you're that worried!

Trolley jack FTW :)

You can sit the back on axle stands under the trailing link arm mounts....then support the rear axle with a trolley jack, undo everything, lower the axle and pop out the springs...

I think we'll have to try it again. I'm looking for either some rear 35/40mm springs (not cut lol), or a single stock spring so I can revert and approach it later.
