what did you do to your micra today ?

ooooooooh i know now, never heard of it before haha, when i get some dosh in my bank account ill be buying green interior light bulb and a dash and centre console conversion kit from bay of E :p all the lights inside my car will be green, gonna be an alien car ahaha
With regards your dash lighting. I assume it will be lit using leds. I bought blue ones a while ago but they kept failing. This was due to to small a resistor value. It was OK for 12v but not the 13.5v that the alternator outputted. Therefore make sure the resistors are of the correct value before fitting.

I use a 31mm feston with a ball of foil wedged in the 11mm gap to hold the bulb in place.

Has worked well for over a year.

Found an oil leak!
Anyone want to hazard a guess as to where it has originated from??

BC Racing BR units with 5kg/mm front and 4kg/mm rears. Will use that as a base and tweak from there on. Will see how they compare to the good old Eibach/Koni adjustable combo that saw us well for the last 10yrs.
Keep me posted I'll be interested to see the results :)
That gives you 280lb front and 224lb rear :)
Kg/mm to lb/in = ×56 for a rough estimate for reference :)

Yeah, once it's assembled we'll get it setup and see what the numbers say before we get too much into shredding rubber. Thankfully we've got a couple of places not too far away with the right brain pans ;)

From what I've calculated so far they seem soft... but I'll keep a hold of my figures and we'll compare nearer the time ;)

Haha, it's a Frankism ;) To us, they're just coilovers :D
nah, a radek-ism (TMRS) originally :)

"i was counting the seconds before your response tom. personally, i think, even a front strut brace is a waste of time, any car i have driven with one fitted, then removed, makes absolutely no difference in cornering/stiffness, i reckon there just a bling wank factor to add more weight to the car. seam welding would be mad but. and the brace i have is bolted through the strut towers using 2 10mm bolts either end.... looks good, thats it."

Ah well, was the first time I saw it associated to coilovers...

Probally a set up similar to mine. Mine are BC BR's but with custom sprint rates :)

You guys are probably right. Aspect start out at F:6kg/mm, R:3.5kg/mm and Mulholland run F:6kg/mm, R:4kg/mm, as a comparison. They're stiffer than the old V1's which came in at F:4kg/mm, R:3kg/mm.

What we run will largely depend on final weight and tyres, as it's not a road car.

I'd be inclined to run 4.5/5kg on the rear and soft anti roll bars. Dependent on the damper settigs

Either way you've a car to finish first and then we'll see how it.works out

Wdidt?
...Mot booked for friday, had to get some new tyres first though ;)

I called up my tyre place on Monday to get a quote for 185/50 R16s...the receptionist tried but failed to grasp what I was asking her for and soon passed me over to the tyre man lol

After checking the kind I wanted online I asked if they could get the same ones, they said yes and saved me £2 per tyre...so I ordered 4.
Picked them up this afternoon, all fitted. When I drove away I could tell the difference straight away. The improvement between 2mm and 8mm is rather staggering ^_^

While they were fitting them one of the guys said he'd never seen a Sport model micra before...and the other bloke fell in love with my. ..collapsible traffic cone :p

Tyre porn!!!

Brand/type?

Brand/type?
Marshall matrac mh11's
They're a new version of the tyres that came on my k12 4 years ago...in fact 3 of the 4 tyres i changed were the old marshalls ^_^
Online price (asda tyres) £62.34,
called them directly £59.16
...saving £3 per tyre, just from a phone call ;)

The guy did try to get me to go with the matrix(?) ones at first, he had them in stock but they were £65.45 each and rated F for fuel economy and C in the wet. ?.the Marshalls were rated C for both, he just had to order them from a different supplier

Edit:
The Continental one's in that size are about £90-£110 each!
Although I think they have B ratings?
Edit2: http://www.asdatyres.co.uk/?gclid=CMCX0bzXiLsCFSKWtAodpUwA9w

Continentals ratings for 2 of 4 kinds are worse than the Marshalls.
I guess it just depends how much of a brand you want, I never had a problem with the old Marshalls so sticking with them worked for me
