here goes

No actual work but some thinking.....

Given my issues with the GA15 TB which i fitted last, now i think it is the afm/hot wire at fault causing it to run very rich, as i can see the wire glowing red.... I have re-read the soldering K11 TB guide which is good, but i do have a spare good TB, can i transfer over the circuit board completely ? Since i know the circuit board works fine it should work. Thoughts ??

i,ve transfered a complete maf assy over before matt, i cheated tho and cut 2 little bridges of casing away, instead of de-soldering the connector (worked fine :) )

I have printed off the soldering guide, does anyone know the ideal value's to test the circuit ? I.e. resistance of the AFM ? So i can test it.

Okay, so not what I did today, but over the last couple of days ;)

Wednesday

...Yay! :p

Today
well...I haven't done it yet because it was tipping it down with rain this morning <_<
...so after lunch, I'll be doing the final 2500 wet and dry, shampoo, dry off, wax, buff...Happy!!!! :D

in other news...
My brother got home from a wedding in Devon , He'd borrowed the Almera and it was in a right state, so I got photographic evidence, of course :p

I can only assume he provoked the seagulls! LOL
...he says they started it...the entire car was plastered in it, not just that side either!

Nice job Jen, makes me want to sort my rather terribly bodged rear bumper. Need to plastic weld, prep, primer, prep a bit more and then paint... might take me a while.

I was curious to see how my scrap car engine bay would clean up after doing my running car for the MOT, it seems a shame to scrap it really, just a shame the previous owner scratched every single panel on the car while it was in his hands, I might add it was already a cat C damaged car when he bought it.

Jen, looking good. Don't forget to leave the paint a few days to harden before polishing. I've had some shiny paint action too!

They're on! The colour is quite subtle and I think I shall find a suitable location and do some proper pictures to really show them off. I need to sort out the rear wheel centres as they don't fit over the hub nut dust caps but otherwise, hurrah! Now, lowering...

Saved it from a fire. Been playing at my house. Get a call to say the units gone up. So raced to save my babies. Unfortunately our evo wasn't so lucky but the damage isn't terminal we have however lost the majority of the shop and tools
:(:(:( sad day

There all ok. Our older chappy got a tad singed but he's alright.. was under a car at the time.
Just waiting for them to 'determine the cause'
They've already said though the speed its spread it must of been fuel vapour. And we were lucky our compressor didnt go pop too I guess
I hold none of my lot responsible anyways. They've all pretty much said they'll work for nowt to get it fixed up :)

That's good then, I guess ;)
...as karl said, only material losses...
....you can't replace the "older chappy" quite as easy as a tool chest :p

Cant replace ray he's a living legend in my opinion :) they all are
In all honesty it coulda been alot worse. The spare fuel cans were sealed and didnt go up. The paints and solvents cabinet was locked. They did everything right.
Shame about the tools especially the computer.
I suppose its what we pay insurance for :(

Cause was an electrical fault. They think it was the extension lead because of such and such
And fuel vapour is to blame for the spread. Last time I let a car with leaky tank in. And it only arrived this morning :(
Initial shock and doom and gloom over. Didnt know what to do so I came on here to keep me occupied :)

...Insurance does have an purpose after all :p
...one of those things you think/hope you'll never need, but golly your glad you have it when you do ;)
at least you know the cause now too, probably more annoying if you were still in the dark over how it started h701

WDIDT?...

Finally completed my bumper!
....even put my mudflaps back on, which have been off the car for about 2 weeks.

...rubbed back lightly with the 2500 wet'n'dry, gave it a quick wash with the car shampoo...
...patted her dry....
...I double checked the paint had "gone off" properly by gently prodding the underside (bit you can't see) with my nail...which left no impression.

T-cut...and then waxed and buffed....not got a machine on it, just did it by hand....I may have slight tennis elbow now though LOL

I'm am very happy with my result...I don't think my bumper has looked this good since she rolled out of the factory in Sunderland (2005)

and so shiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnny too!
