Our Grandma has gone into care and given us her car. It's a 2010 Micra Ascenta. We brought it back to where we live yesterday and had no problems but today the remote key fob won't centrally lock the car (yesterday worked fine!)
The car unlocks (and blinks the side lights) fine but even when we press lock, even more than twice, nothing happens and the doors remain unlocked.
Does anyone have a clue why this might be??
It seemed to happen after we parked up the car in our drive and topped it up with petrol from the red can in the boot. Don't see how that could be linked though?
Things we've tried:
-Opening all doors and closing them again.
-Making sure the fuel cap is on and flap closed.
-Taking the battery out the fob for a few minutes (we have 2 fobs and both are exhibiting the same behaviour!)
-Locking car using the button near the handbrake and getting someone to try opening from outside (doors open!)
We are really at a loss. We haven't put a new coin battery in yet because they both unlock the car ok, they just don't lock it! So weird.
