Water pump tensioner

Hi

Frank. I seen an old post were you said you ran with out a water pump tensioner and a slack belt. Did it work ok. We've just removed the PAS from my lads auto grass micra and it could be a way to go if the tensioner not needed.

yes i ran that for a few years mate, but 1 belt i used was too slack and i cooked the engine

I've just done power steering delete on my facelift. I just took the internals out of the pump and refitted it with just the pulley. I then looped the rack power steering lines through the standard reservoir so it'd stay lubed up.

Anyone know what the knack is it getting the power rack out with the engine in situ.
