Water pump belt help

I know there are threads on this, but upon reading them it is mechanics talking to mechanics.

I am a bit of a car servicing nub.

Anyway, I changed the fuel filter (after much swearing) and now I am changing the belts.

The alternator belt came off fine. The waterpump/powersteering are a nightmare! The adjuster thingy for the waterpump belt looks the same as the alternator but I just cannot seem to get a spanner in there - I could if I really tried but my concern is how do I adjust the adjuster bolt.

Both belts are worn and require changing. The car is a 2000 micra (00-02 facelift) with P/S, no idler and no aircon.

Thanks in advance, I really do appreciate the help. Please feel free to spell things out to me like I am an idiot.

Try using a socket (i think 12mm) on the adjuster, and iirc, you tighen the waterpump/powersteering tensioners adjuster bolt and it should lower the tensioner
