Tyres!

I would go for the taller walled tire (as long as it clears properly) as it'll take the bumps better and give a nice ride. But if you like to corner quickly then go for the lower wall, depends on what you're after from your car bud.

Probably you'd get same performance as the tyre profile is high (60 and can bend in corners), so I'd look for the best combination price/performance. Im running 15" Toyo Proxes 4 (195/45/15) and i love them (Y)

Maybe my next tyre will be Toyo Proxes R1R or Yokohama Parada Spec II grr

Two friends have Toyo Proxes T1R and they only said positive things about it, except that it gets little bit loud when its old. My Toyo Proxes 4 is a softer tyre, and it's less loud than the T1R. Another one has the R888 on an MR2 with ford engine using a compressor and N20 system. I guess T1R is great for daily driving even if you push the car hard around corners. The R888 is a more progressive tyre, to be used on tracks and so on.....my opinion ;)

So would I. Nissan recommends 165/60 R 14 77H, and as the 60 erpresents a % of the width(165); if you fitted wider ones the sidewall ratio would need to be smaller, eg... going from 165/60R14 to 185/55 R14
I done this on a tire comparison site:
Tire Size Comparison
SpecificationSidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Diffefence
165/60-14 3.9" 10.9" 21.8" 65.8" 925 0.00%
185/55-14 4.0" 11.0" 22.0" 69.2" 916 1.00%
195/55-14 3.8" 10.8" 21.7" 68.1" 930 -0.50%

Hope this helps, lads

this car has tax and mot lol.... im just askin what profiles people are useing...

Toyo r888. i put two on the front Very grippy.. kept losin the back. but only last 2 mouths.
Toyo T1r's are the better 1's but dont fink they make them in 14" as im droppin an inch. as i have sparco race wheels going on now..

So what the best tyre to run on a 14" rim...

just put on some toyo t1r 195/50/15 on rota grid 15" alloys today and oh heck they grip so much harder compared to my previous yoko Adrive or Avon cr322 175/70/13. will test over the few days, abs hardly kicks in anymore during hard stops (will be upgrading to pulsar brakes tomorrow) and no longer feel any understeer type scrubbing at roundbouts, it just grips smoothly n stable.
