1st Micraversary!
@SirChris @Jen319 and All

27 July, Farnborough motor club Autosolo at Montgomery Lines, Aldershot; some spaces still available I think:
http://forum.fdmc.org.uk/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2755&sid=54f74d96e10d16fb359eb4c0d66a47c5

Entry form and regulations:
http://fdmc.org.uk/summersolo2014.php

I can't do this one unfortunately. If anyone wants to give it a go I can put you in touch with the membership secretary to get you signed up to the club; you might be able to do it on the day also.

Provisional calendar:

There are some taster days coming up later in the year which I will pulicise when I have more details.

Great idea @drand

For those not local to Farnborough, find your Local motor here via Go Motorsport : http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/localGroupFinder.asp?category=469 or Go Motorsport here : http://www.gomotorsport.net/ Go Mo explains how to get involved more and and details about types of events. Suze (sometimes on here) is the RDO for Go Mo for the South East so can help out people in the SE who want to get started - PM me for more info.

Best way to start is to find your local motor club and find out where local events / meetings are and go from there. Plus of course marshaling.... Still got space at Brands Hatch on Sunday 24th august for people to marshal - free entry to the event, up close to the action and some great thank you gifts :) Sign up here http://chelmsfordmc.co.uk/civicrm/event/info?reset=1&id=42 or PM me on here.

one was an autotest at the town centre car park, ahh no wonder I used to see afew caterhams n minis etc sliding around cones in town attracting crowds back during me days in school 20yrs ago.
well better late than never.

Well said Matt. Local clubs up and down the country put on fantastic events where you can drive, navigate, marshal, organise and otherwise participate and have a great rewarding experience.

Make sure it's in good roadworthy condition, take out any loose items from the cabin, put an extra few psi in your front tyres, that's it! The great thing about these events is you rock up in your daily car, have a great day and drive home again with a big smile on your face. Anything else you want to know pm me.

The most you will need is maybe a second set of wheels/tyres if your current ones are already low on tread (front only).

A trip down the scrap yard will sort you on that.

cool cheers :) yeah tyres are good on tread , would probably get and take a spare set of front wheels to use at least just so the ones i would use for daily and motorway driving were'nt being beaten to death if i were to do it :) will have to see if i can get my dad on board :p

Not just K11s in motor sport... This thread should be in the general discussion area for all members to see....

Plus I'd be upping pressure in the rear tyres not the front to encourage rear end slip not front. Every drivers different

Good points @h701micra. I created this thread to give some info to those who might be interested in a specific event, but it should become a general thread to encourage msc members to try some motorsport. Perhaps a moderator could move it somewhere more appropriate.

Upping front tyre pressures is often recommended for easier steering effort (particularly for non -pas cars), though I agree a more unstable rear end is a bonus on this type of event.

Like I say chap. All down to driver preference :)

Super useful thread, thanks for making it a sticky. Definitely going to get involved in some auto solo's didn't realise there were so many so close to me.

Our local club, Sporting Car Club of Norfolk, has a fleet of K11s available for interested folk to try their hand at motorsport. Great fun and affordable too. Look up the club, come and meet us and join in.
