timing belt

Hi, am thinking of buying a micra from 2003, or 04. I've googled them but came up with lots of timing belt problems.

Was wondering if this was a common problem, or if anyone could give me a better idea of how much it would be to replace the timing belt, and how many miles roughly it needs changing at?

It's not a belt Emily, it's a chain. Do a search on here for K12 timing chain and you should find plenty of info .

I did mine about a month ago, took 2 days as it involves removing engine. sadley 03 and 04 micras are prone to this your looking at £600 min to get done

Ive decided to sell my k12 now as im now the owner of a 106 GTI with only 19k on clock belonged to a spoilt kid around our way who had way to many toys........
