Throttle body

Hi All

Just had the TB off the daughters SR and soldered ALL of the joints - made a huge difference

While off the car i noticed that the bracket and set up for the cold start (assume its for cold start anyway) waxstat at the rear of the TB was bent over

Anyone know how to set this up properly - I assume there is a clearance or method either hot or cold ?

Many thanks

if the bracket has been bent over tony, its probably seized and been disabled.
the plunger just pushes against the throttle quadrant iirc, and you adjust it to suit eh :)

the waxstat always seizes over time but the fast idle is also controlled by the Idle Air Valve at the front of the TB via the ecu.
i just totally removed my waxstat mechanism and cleaned the IAV and works fine.

Ok cool and thanks
I assume the waxstat would just richen up the mixture when really cold and as there is already too much fuel when cold "disabled" is probably the way to go

Will clean the IAV

:grinning:
